And very often, such “characteristic features” become something like stereotypes, resulting in such beliefs as “all Irish people are red” or statements in the spirit of “a click between the front teeth typical of Italians”. But at the same time, many residents of European countries are completely incapable of distinguishing a resident of one Asian country from another, for them "all Asians are on one face, you will not understand who he is, Chinese or Japanese, how are they even different?" At the same time, the people of Asia themselves distinguish each other with almost absolute accuracy, although there are exceptions, since a number of certain differences still exist.
National Diversity and Unity
Starting a conversation about the differences between one nation and another, one should at least turn a little to the history of the countries under discussion. And immediately the fact will emerge that China is a country that is not monolithic in its ethnic composition, and the inhabitants of Beijing and, for example, Taiwan will be significantly different from each other. At the same time, Japan is a mono-ethnic country, and the Japanese are more or less similar in appearance. Japanese hair is softer than the Chinese, and they also have less facial hair.

The differences between the Chinese and Japanese are also noticeable in the way they relate to their own appearance. It is believed that the Japanese are very worried about what others will think about them, very worried about their reputation. They are much more concerned about their appearance, unlike all the same Chinese. The skin of Japanese women, as opposed to the skin of Chinese women, is almost always much more well-groomed, they can pay a little less attention to their clothes, but their hair and makeup will always be thought out with special care. Chinese women are often accused of a lack of a sense of style, an incorrect combination of colors in clothes, a lack of makeup, and untidy hair.
For example, quite often on the street you can meet a Chinese woman dressed in a home costume, or even in her pajamas. The Japanese will never allow herself such a thing. The Japanese as a whole prefer better-quality clothes, often of well-known brands.
Many often note the Japanese love of stockings with displeasure, they say, they emphasize the curvature of the legs of Japanese women. It is believed that Japanese women have slightly short and crooked legs, while Chinese women have fairly long and straight legs. And the calf muscles in the latter are not so large and developed.
Demeanor
The difference between the Chinese and the Japanese, except for appearance, is a manner of behavior. There is such half-joking advice: if you met a group of Asian tourists and don’t know who they are, then look at their behavior. If they make noise, then it’s the Chinese, and if they quietly take pictures and sightseeing, then the Japanese. By virtue of well-established cultural characteristics, including those of upbringing, the Chinese are very noisy and impulsive when compared with the same Japanese, who, on the contrary, are taught modesty and delicacy from early childhood. Therefore, many Chinese people in public places do what no Japanese can afford, for example, they speak loudly and emotionally, without the slightest shadow of embarrassment they spit under their feet.
