Girls who want to marry a rich man are recommended not only to spend time in the gym to find a perfect body, but also to develop their minds by reading philosophers. But what can these scientists give us? Why is the study of their work considered so useful? The very concept of "philosophy" has already been wiped into holes, but what does philosophy study? Being and its most fundamental laws. What is it about?

Not every student studying in this specialty will clearly tell what he is studying. The subject of "philosophy" is required for all higher education institutions, and therefore almost everyone with the ability to graduate from the university has minimal knowledge. The easiest way to characterize philosophy is through issues. So what is this science doing? Philosophy is a science that studies reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, reasoning, thinking. She developed many scientific problems long before other sciences took up them: for example, cognition (then transferred to the sphere of cognitive science), motion (physics), the possibility of the transformation of substances (chemistry). That is, philosophy is not only meta-science that stands above others. It is also a proto-science within the framework of which new directions are born.

Students know that philosophy is both “light” and “heavy.” An example of the first is Jose Ortega y Gasset, the second is Hegel. This second one should be read in the original and compared with the works of contemporaries. Qualitative work of researchers will not interfere. But, in general, understanding Hegel is rather difficult. What does Hegel's philosophy study? The laws of being and its development (yes, the beloved by everyone is the "law of the transition of quantity into quality"), the laws of the objective and subjective. But reading this author is difficult.

What does philosophy study? The possibility of understanding human existence in the framework of rational knowledge and the attainability of human goals in principle. Philosophy and the study of the problems of happiness, the criteria for true success, and probability do not pass by. Very interesting are the works of the modern philosopher Taleb on the issues of forecasting and a misunderstanding of reality. Taleb predicted it even before the global crisis, after which he became a very successful philosopher combining a profitable trading business with science. In the book "Anti-Fragility, " he outlines effective methods of confronting unexpected negative events, or "black swans."

One of them is called the “bar strategy”: most of the effort and money needs to be invested in reliable low-yield papers or types of work. And leave a little for dangerous and very profitable. An example of the use of the bar strategy is the fact that in France, writers try to find a modestly paid, but not demanding, work. And in their free time they engage in risky activities - the creation of their works.

What does philosophy study? Not only divorced from life concepts. This science can be quite useful to an ordinary person if he has learned to correctly interpret philosophical knowledge and apply it in life.
