The belief of people in the animation of nature gave rise to the need for contact with it. Researchers of the folklore of the Eastern Slavs, explaining in their works what a spell is, give the definition of this concept as follows. That is why, over time, the cry has become different, the definition of which sounds today as a child’s inviting song. Most often, she is distinguished by great emotionality, positive orientation, spontaneity and faith in strength, the effectiveness of the spoken word. To fulfill the call, children are usually gathered in groups. Sometimes they are joined by older family members.

What is the purpose of the nickname?

The pagan religion, characteristic of the East Slavic peoples, provided for a system of certain relations between people and nature. It was believed that the gods and goddesses of the sun, thunder, spring, winter, other seasons influenced the weather and the harvest. The well-being of families directly depended on them, which means that a certain form of agreement was developed with them, initially including a variety of magical rites. The villagers were asked to remove the drought, shed moisture on the ground, help rise and strengthen the seedlings, and much more, associated with hard everyday work. In return, promised gifts - homemade food, fruits and vegetables, invited to visit.

The concept of what a cry is, the definition of it as a ritual appeal underwent a big change in connection with the adoption of Christianity, and then in Soviet times, when the words “collective farm” and “state farm” were included in the usual texts. Today it is more like a children's seasonal game - funny, laid-back, uniting in one action, developing speech.

Cast as a small genre of folklore

The short duration and simultaneity of the impact distinguish riddles and counters, as well as proverbs and sentences. All these are small genres of folklore, including also the cries. Ritual songs are conditionally divided into several types depending on the time of year (mainly spring and summer), as well as on natural phenomena. Therefore, when explaining what a call is, defining it as a personalized appeal must be considered from several angles. It always has what a series of consecutive events is expected from: a month, for example, should illuminate the road, fog, on the contrary, should not cover it.

A call is also a request for help addressed to plants, animals and insects: a mouse, a ladybug, a bee, a bird cherry, a cranberry and others. Hence the imperative forms of verbs, negative or positive: do not lei, do not gray, bloom, grow, and the like. The melody of their pronunciation can be different: smooth and melodious, rhythmic and perky.
