Elena Levchenko is a Belarusian basketball player playing in the center position. On the account of the tireless traveler, performances for clubs in three parts of the world - America, Europe, Asia. The first steps

Elena Levchenko was born in Gomel, in Belarus, in 1983. Already in childhood, she stood out among her friends with her high growth, because of which she was insanely complex and worried. With such natural data, she had two ways - volleyball or basketball. Elena Levchenko chose the second and did not lose.

She began to seriously engage in sports at the age of nine, the first coach for her was Viktor Popov. After a couple of months, the Gomel coach realized that he had at his disposal a real nugget.

In addition to high growth, Lena was distinguished by good coordination of movement, plasticity and aptly hit the ring.

At republican competitions, Levchenko was noticeably distinguished from her teammates and made a lasting impression on the capital's coaches. She was offered training at the Minsk School of Olympic Reserve. So at the age of 14, the girl leaves her home to grow into a basketball star.

Junior

For Elena Levchenko it was very difficult to decide to leave the family and move to the capital, where there were no parents or old friends near her. Nevertheless, the girl firmly set a goal to become the country's best basketball player and play in the women's NBA.

She did it very well. Already in 1999, Lena successfully makes her way to the youth team of Belarus and goes to her first European Championship.

Here, the team did not show outstanding results, however, the young basketball player Elena Levchenko stood out noticeably among her peers, she methodically collected rebounds and threw balls into the ring, completely hosting in the area under the shield. All this allowed the girl to earn the title of the best center tournament.

West Virginia student

In 2000, Elena again decided to move, this time she went to the United States, where she was offered a sports scholarship at a college in West Virginia. At first, the European athlete found it difficult to get comfortable on American sites, where local girls looked down on the upstart from Belarus.

Gradually, she gained a reputation as the undaunted center and began to play a prominent role in the student team. For two consecutive years, Elena Levchenko was among the top ten players in American colleges, achieving this status with her confident game.
