Their father was a Russian artist of Tatar origin. His name was Yuri Mikhailovich. At the same time, he bore the double surname Ostasenko-Bogdanov. He often called himself Prince Bogdanov, but whether it was really of noble origin is not known.
The mother of the twins was called Maria Dolores Franciska Kolovrat-Krakow. At that time she was 23 years old. Igor Bogdanov is the eldest of the brothers. He was born before Gregory for 45 minutes.
