The Bronstein Gallery in Irkutsk is the largest private collection of contemporary art works located beyond the Urals. The exposition covers the regional history of the development of painting and sculpture over the past 70 years. The rich collection is constantly replenished with the works of eminent masters and aspiring artists.

History and Description

Victor Bronstein is the founder of the gallery, philanthropist, entrepreneur and member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He began to collect his collection in 1998, deciding to support Irkutsk artists. By 2011, an extensive and diverse collection was represented by brilliant names and required publication, so that everyone could touch the art. So in Irkutsk appeared the first private gallery.

Today, the exhibition halls are spread over an area of ​​more than 1300 square meters, about 1.5 thousand works of art are collected in the exposition. The basis of the collection consists of paintings by Irkutsk landscape painters. The canvases reflect the nature of the Urals, Baikal, city landscapes. The second most important collection is a collection of bronze sculptures by Buryat masters. The pearl of this exposition is the work of the sculptor Dasha Namdakov.

In 2015, the Bronstein gallery in Irkutsk opened after a major reconstruction, becoming the largest collection in Siberia. The exposition was replenished with new works, opening to the public the names of talented local sculptors such as Yuri Mandaganov, Chingiz Shonkhorov, Oleg Kozlov, Zorikto Dorzhiev and others. The collection of paintings expanded through the acquisition of 14 paintings by the Buryat artist Alla Tsibikova.

The Victor Bronstein Gallery (Irkutsk) is an art space whose main purpose of existence is the freedom of expression of the artist in his work and attracting spectator attention to contemporary art, events, exhibitions and other events as part of the multi-faceted work of the center. Three floors of the gallery accommodate not only exhibition halls, but also restaurants, conference rooms, and an exclusive souvenir shop.

The audience is attracted by the modern dynamic design and interior of each room. Technical capabilities allow holding an event or an event of any level and direction in the Bronstein Gallery (Irkutsk), from scientific seminars to fashion shows and international conferences.

The exhibition center has gathered several areas of art on its territory: experimental and classical painting, modern plastic art, vernissages, performances and other unique projects. The gallery hosts film screenings, international symposiums, world premieres of exhibitions, concerts and much more, which makes the art space the cultural center of the city.

Tours

The Bronstein Gallery in Irkutsk conducts educational activities, in which once a week excursions are free for everyone. On Wednesdays, the audience is invited to admire the exhibits and learn more about the permanent exhibition of the sculptor Dasha Namdakov, as well as a collection of dolls created by his family members.

Every Thursday of the week, visitors receive the opportunity of free guided tours of the current thematic (temporary) exhibition. To join lovers and connoisseurs of contemporary art, you must purchase an entrance ticket before the start of the tour. The cost of visiting is 100 rubles per visitor, the price of a child ticket is 50 rubles. School trips on other days - 100 rubles per student (for group visits). Duration - 1 hour.
