Latvia is not a very populated country. Because no city, almost everyone is the capital. That is, the administrative center of the same name region. Most of the cities are in northwestern Latvia (Vedzeme). Basically, their distribution throughout the country is uniform. Only Celia suffers: here, even the administrative centers of the territories are not cities.
Not less than a thousand
Before we start compiling a list of cities in Latvia, let’s say that in this country settlements have a right to be called a city, where a thousand or more citizens live. In total there are 77 such entities in Latvia.

The largest nine cities of Latvia are called “republican cities” in the list, the rest are mostly administrative centers of the territories, of which there are 109 units in Latvia.
Zemgale, Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme and Celia
There is a division into regions in this country. But interestingly, it is not administrative, but economic. These are planning regions, as well as historical and cultural areas of Latvia.
