Biography
In the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk April 23, 1950 was born the famous Soviet hockey player. From childhood Vladimir was fond of hockey and was a pupil of the local Olympia club, in which he began his playing career. For all the time he repeatedly played for various hockey clubs and participated in the USSR Higher Hockey League. In his first Major League Championship of the USSR, he played for the Saratov team. In total, he has over 380 matches and almost 80 points. In 1976, he played in the experimental team at the Canada Cup.
Vladimir Krikunov decided to finish his playing career in 1984. After that, he wanted to try himself as a coach. It is worth noting that in this role he achieved significant achievements. As a coach, Vladimir Krikunov has been working for more than 30 years and at the moment is not going to stop his career. He was a coach not only at Russian clubs, but also at clubs of the national teams of Slovenia and Belarus. His main coaching achievements are events such as the victories of his teams at the World Championships and participation in the 2002 and 2006 Olympics.
