As for the fauna, endemic species are found mainly on Lake Baikal, however, the hallmark of the animal world is still a clumsy seal (similar to a dolphin). Therefore, inexperienced drivers are urged not to ride on ice, since it is quite difficult to notice the dead gap, and it is even more difficult to brake urgently. As for ordinary ice skating, it is better to take ice axes and cats with you, which can be easily caught if a strong wind suddenly starts.
