Secondly, the United States was quite weak in terms of military training. And thirdly, this policy helped them stop the intervention of European countries in the affairs of the Americans and prevented Britain from trying to regain its lost ground.
Thus, the Americans could not participate in military conflicts with other countries due to the absence of any treaties, but simply watch the unfolding events from the inside. This approach took its name - the policy of "free hands". And after that, the Monroe dictatorship was issued, which confirmed all the rights of Americans to pursue a policy of isolationism.
Principles of Isolationism in the USA
Creating such a powerful defense as isolationism, the Americans developed certain principles for themselves to work on. In the concept of US power, isolationism is:
- The foundation of "Fortress of America" - a powerful system of protection against external influences.
- In this case, any country lost the right to attack.
- The United States also could not intervene in foreign affairs.
- The basis of the dictatorship in case of intervention.
