Magnetic latch for doors is used for fixing in the open position with the balcony mounting option and in the closed when it is located on the interior openings. A simple invention helps to combat drafts and construction flaws.
Varieties of fasteners
Magnetic latch is available in two versions:
- Built-in design. It is driven by a handle.
- Mounted type. The magnet is mounted on the base of the opening, the counterpart is on the canvas material.
According to the complexity of the design, it is also divided into:
- Simple types - suitable for installation by the hinged method on furniture, boxes, suitcases.
- Complex mechanisms - have mechanical locks and magnetic parts.
The latter are divided by type of work:
- Roller - used to facilitate opening the door. The operation of the mechanism is silent, movements occur without biting.
- Falevye - manipulations with opening the lock require a little effort. The mechanism closes on its own.
- Latches-latches - it is required to close and open forcefully.
Use on interior openings
The built-in magnetic interlock latch is not cheap due to the fact that it is sold as part of a kit. The appearance is aesthetic, the mounts are hidden under the details of the lock case. To install the kit, you will need to make a groove in the canvas, for which a chisel is used.
Available in the following options:
- With a magnetic tongue fixing the door in the opening.
- Combined with mechanical stoppers, it is possible to open only with a key.
- Simple clamping plan, unlocked by the force of the handle or from the outside by pushing into the canvas.
The magnetic latch comes in the form of double poles, turning the handle creates a repulsive moment, which does not require efforts to open.
Fixing the openings on the loggias
The magnetic balcony latch is divided into three of the following types: roller, fall, latch-latches. But the fastening of plastic mechanisms has the following features:
- instead of screws or pins, a long metal strip is used, installed on the end of the canvas;
- the reciprocal part of the magnet is small, fixed to the opening with metal screws, holes of small diameter are pre-drilled;
- when installing new plastic doors, it is recommended to provide fastenings for latches.
