This name simply programs the child for success, no matter whether it is a boy or a girl. We Slavs were incredibly lucky. The peoples speaking Romance languages have only a female version - Gloria. And here, with the sonorous word Glory (the full name can be very different at the same time), we can call children of both sexes. What is its feature? This is the so-called double name. Like Eugene / ia, Valery / ia, Valentin / a. In a diminutive (scientifically, hypocoristic) form, they sound the same: Zhenya, Lera, Valya.
In addition, it is also a two-base name. This means that in conjunction with it, a single-root word must be added. Most often it goes at the beginning and thus directs, correlates the full name. “Glory” due to this prefix can be directed both at the person himself and at the deity. For example, by Boguslav / oh they called those who honor God. Children were called so that they were religious. But the wishes of growing, booming or howling praise and fame gave rise to Rosti, Gremi and Vyacheslav. And how did the fathers' hopes that their sons get their laurels in the military field respond? They gave the world the name Mechislav. And so on.

But the diminutive nickname for the girl will sound like “Peace.” The bearers of such double names, as well as their parents, are also lucky in that they have at least two variants of the affectionate-diminutive nickname for the child. A boy can be Yarik, Vlad, Stas, Rostik, Radko, Vaclav, Bogus … And girls, besides the usual Glory, can be affectionately called Lada, Mirosi, Mila and even Sveta. How is this done? The last two diminutive names coincide with Lyudmila and Svetlana. But what will be written in the passport of these women? Yes, Miloslava and Svetislav.
It happened in Russian. Mostly, if someone’s friendly name is “Glory”, the full masculine name of such a person will be Vyacheslav. Do not call him, in fact, Vyachik? This name has many analogues in other related languages: Wenceslas or Wenceslas. It was formed from the archaic word "howling", which means "much larger" or, as one would put it today, "to the maximum." This name practically did not occur until the second half of the 19th century, since Wenceslas (aka Laszlo) is a Catholic saint of the 10th century and he was not included in the Orthodox clergy. But interest in old Russian antiquity resurrected the name Vecheslav.
Whatever the full name, Glory always longs for laurels and praise. Parents need to work very hard on these inclinations of his (or her) in order to turn their child's exorbitant ambitions into a healthy channel. It is necessary to impress the little ambitious man that he cannot succeed in literally all spheres of life. Otherwise, the unprepared Slava, faced with the fact that he is not the most, most talented student in the drawing circle, can fall into frustration and earn complexes for life.
But Yaroslav (this is a full name, Slava is again a diminutive) will encounter other problems in life. His leadership qualities hit over the edge already in childhood. He is the initiator and organizer of all pranks. But the prefix "Yry", which means "stormy", "strong", can do such a Glory an unkind service. Sometimes he will act too voluntarist, too firmly and straightforwardly, which can spoil his relations with colleagues, and especially his subordinates. But it is not without reason that one of the Kiev princes was nicknamed Yaroslav the Wise - such a person has the intelligence to smooth the conflict and defuse the situation.
