In Moscow, there are many interesting park areas that amaze with an abundance of greenery and provide an opportunity to be alone with your thoughts. One of these green areas is the Mitino landscape park. Now you need to talk more about the park itself and its location.
A bit about the park itself
So, it is worth talking about what this wonderful place is. The Mitino Landscape Park is a unique Moscow park located in the Mitino area. The railway of the Riga direction lies nearby. This is one of the largest landscape green areas of Moscow. Here the Baryshikha River flows, on its banks ancient mounds rise, on which beautiful spruce trees grow. Mounds are located in the east of the park, not far from the Volokolamskaya metro station. Such objects appeared here a very long time ago, many centuries ago. For a long time this place was not very popular. However, in the early 2000s, active improvement of the park began.
Mitino Landscape Park: Legends
The area on which this wonderful cozy park is now located, it turns out, was inhabited many centuries ago. To be more precise, people appeared here in the first millennium BC. e. Naturally, nothing remained from that time, only burial grounds have survived to our days. Of course, then they were much larger, now these are just small mounds. However, despite this, the impression they create is truly unforgettable.
There are legends about this place. One of them says that not only warriors are buried in ancient burial grounds, but also a myriad of treasures and riches. Nearby was the peasant community, which decided to use these wealth in case of emergency. For a long period of time, archaeologists tried to conduct a number of excavations here, however, the local population was categorically against it. Nevertheless, in 1833, it was possible to carry out excavations, but everyone was very disappointed: in one of the burial grounds they found a skeleton of a warrior, several clay items of utensils and other things, but gold and silver were not found there.
The history of the development of the park
Now it’s worth talking about how the development of these lands and the emergence of the park took place. This area became abandoned during the reign of Tsar Ivan the Terrible. The whole territory and mounds are overgrown with impenetrable forest. This lasted a long time, and only at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries did the territory begin to be developed. However, initially it was not a park zone that was supposed to be here, it was decided to build a brick factory here. But already in 1933 the territory was used for the construction of a holiday village for workers of the Moscow Bakery Trust. About 60 country houses were erected at this place. The village did not last long, it was soon settled for the construction of the Mitino microdistrict.
Before the construction of the area was launched, archaeologists carefully examined this area. During the excavation, a large number of objects were found, many of which had a thousand-year history. After that, the authorities decided to assign this place the status of a cultural and historical monument, which is not subject to development; here they decided to set up the Mitino landscape park. Now this landscaped green area pleases the eye of many visitors.
Park improvement now
Many parks can boast such a wonderful city like Moscow. The Mitino landscape park is no exception. In 2003, the park began to be actively landscaped. To date, quite a lot of work has already been done: the Mitinsky well is located here, a beautiful dam of the Baryshikha River is arranged. A pond with an area of 6 hectares was cleared and landscaped. In addition, global landscaping was carried out in the park, as a result of which more than 5 thousand trees and 3 thousand bushes were planted. Lighting was also installed, now you can walk here even in the evening.
The park has many paths and paths for hiking and cycling. Several playgrounds were arranged for young visitors to the park, and in winter, which is especially interesting, a skating rink operates here.
