Sevastopol is not just a hero city, annually attracting tens of thousands of tourists with its beauties and attractions. It is also a large fishing and commercial port, as well as a cultural, historical, recreational, scientific, technical and industrial center, which, in addition to everything, is the main naval base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. This city, like many others, is divided into several small territorial units. And all areas of Sevastopol in their own way are unique, interesting and successful for living. However, first things first.

Nakhimovsky district

It was formed in 1957. His first thing to do is to pay attention when telling about the districts of Sevastopol, since it is with him that the city actually begins.

At the time of the current 2017, the population of this territorial unit is approximately 115, 000 people (with an area of 231.5 km 2). This is slightly more than a quarter of the citizens officially registered in the hero city.

The Nakhimovsky district includes the Ship and Northern sides of Sevastopol, as well as the Verhnesadovy, Andreevsky and Kachinsky municipal districts. Looking at the map, you can understand that its open spaces go far. From the extreme point of the Nakhimovsky district, which is the village of Verkhnesadovoye, it’s only 10 minutes drive to Bakhchisarai, and this is another city (the former capital of the Crimean Khanate, by the way).

Useful information

If we talk about the districts of Sevastopol, it should be noted that there are several nuances that can be useful to tourists and people who want to move here.

One part of the Nakhimovsky district is very convenient. The one that is closer to the center. From there it is easy to get to the main city attractions, and the transport connection is well developed. In this area there are railway and car stations, as well as the two largest city beaches covered with sand - Lyubimovka and Uchkuevka. The first of these is surrounded by vineyards and orchards, and the second is almost buried in pine and acacia groves. Lyubimovka and Uchkuevka are centers of the beach industry. They are very loved by tourists and people who want to invest in real estate.

But other municipal districts of the Nakhimovsky district are inconvenient. To the same Verkhnesadovoy, for example, take an electric train for about 45 minutes, and this is only from the station.

Leninsky district

It should also be noted with attention, telling about the city of Sevastopol. The Leninsky district (until 1961 called Stalin) occupies only 26 km 2, which makes it the smallest territorial unit. However, as many people live in its territory as in the whole of Nakhimovsky.

Many people wonder: what is the best district of Sevastopol from a tourist point of view? Definitely, Leninsky. On the territory of this region there is the Tower of the Winds, Grafskaya Marina, Pokrovsky and Vladimirsky Cathedrals, the Former Kenassa, the Military History Museum of the Black Sea Fleet, Sailor's Club, the Monument to the Sailor and Soldier, as well as the symbol of the city - the Monument to the Scuttled Ships.

Infrastructure

This area is perfect for anyone living. There is a highly developed social infrastructure. There are 33 kindergartens, three vocational schools, a sports school, a boarding school, 14 general educational institutions, 17 polyclinics and hospitals, 2 theaters, 7 cinema halls, 2 swimming pools, 3 stadiums and much more.

By the way, in the Leninsky district is not one of the largest retail areas that Sevastopol has. The Ostryakova district (avenue, to be precise) includes the “5 kilometer” - the same market. You can find anything there. For this, in fact, people go there.

However, it is impossible to enumerate everything, since in the entire Leninsky district about 800 enterprises are registered that belong to different fields of activity.

Gagarinsky district

This is the most populated territorial unit of the city. And if you build the districts of Sevastopol in the ranking according to development activity, then Gagarinsky will definitely head this list. At the moment, its free territories are being built up with new houses, shops, hotels, trade enterprises, cultural institutions. Here is also the largest market for wholesale purchases - Metro.

Today, the Gagarinsky district is a complex of large enterprises of industrial, electronic, construction, research and development nature. On its territory there are several secondary special educational institutions, schools and universities. Also, it is impossible not to mention the 22 sanitary-epidemiological and medical institutions.

Worth remembering

Naturally, most people are interested in what are the tourist areas of Sevastopol. Reviews, as well as real information, will help to figure this out.

The sea, interesting places and sights - this is all to the Gagarinsky district. Its territory includes the legendary Tauric Chersonesos National Reserve. This is a small piece of Greece in Sevastopol. Chersonesus was the name of the policy founded by immigrants from Heraclea of Pontic in the distant 424/421 BC.

Victory Park, which occupies 50 hectares of area, can be considered the “heart” of the Gagarinsky district. This is a popular holiday destination with several city beaches, bars, clubs and restaurants. You can walk to the coastline from the entrance to the park in about 15 minutes. The path lies through a picturesque alley of paved trees, poplars, maples, pines, junipers, rosemary, chestnuts and other trees, ennobled by paved paths and benches.

Another prominent place in the area is the armored turret battery No. 35, located in Cossack Bay. This is a famous coastal defense of the Black Sea Fleet, erected at the beginning of the XX century. The battery withstood the entire defense of Sevastopol 1941/42. Today it is a famous historical and memorial complex. Nearby is the State Aquarium, which conducts rehabilitation sessions of dolphin therapy.

Balaklava district

This is the fourth administrative unit, which includes Sevastopol. Photos of the areas are attached, and above you can see the image of the most recognizable part of the Balaklava district.

Its territory is sparsely populated. In total, about 50, 000 people live. This is a bit, given that this area includes 26 villages, 1 city and 1 locality that does not have a status.

Inkerman, which arose in the 600s of our era, deserves special attention. This is a small town located near the Black River, which flows into the Sevastopol Bay. It is through it that the railway to Simferopol passes. The original town - here is the medieval fortress of Kalamita and the famous vintage wine factory, in the cellars of which about 1.05 million decalitres of elite drink are stored.
