Those days are gone when a woman was obliged not only to take upon herself all the cares of the household, to look after the children and at the same time to work somewhere else without fail. Today, many ladies consciously choose a “career as a wife”, leaving their husbands to provide a family, they themselves devote themselves to creating home comfort and raising children. And although in our country, some traditionally squint at the housewives, calling them klushy, in more developed countries such women are treated with great respect.

In addition, some of the housewives often even open their own business selling home-made pastries, clothes and home-made jewelry, and so on. However, Martha Stewart, a US housewife, went the farthest. This amazing woman was able to create a whole business empire, thanks to her passion for home economics.

Martha Stewart: The Early Years

Martha Stewart's parents were immigrants from Poland. The family had six children, and parents could hardly make ends meet. Therefore, from childhood, Martha was looking for ways to earn extra money. Her mother cooked and sewed beautifully and taught this to her talented baby. So almost from childhood Marta Kostira (maiden name) has been selling home baked goods. Over time, the girl mastered gardening.

This failure made the Stuart family move to live in the suburbs, and Martha Stuart herself again turned into a housewife.
