Mashkinsky cemetery is located near the capital. It is located on the territory of the city of Khimki near Moscow. This is a fairly large city graveyard. Its area is more than 12 hectares. The territory of the necropolis is clean and well-groomed. Currently, the cemetery is open for burial of residents of nearby areas.

History of occurrence

Once, near the town of Khimki near Moscow, the village of Mashkino was located. In 1960, a churchyard was opened at the village.

At first it was a small rural cemetery. But then they began to bury urban residents. Over time, the city of Khimki expanded, and the cemetery occupied most of the land in the immediate vicinity of the village. An unfavorable environmental situation developed around the village, and Mashkino was declared a restricted area. Residents of the village were resettled in Khimki and Zelenograd. The village ceased to exist.

For a long time, warehouses stood on the site of the former village. In 1985, Mashkino became part of the capital. Now the territory of the former village is part of the Kurkino district. And the Mashkinsky cemetery remained part of Khimki.

In 2004, the church of the Holy Great Martyr Huara of Egypt was built on a graveyard. In this church, funeral services for the dead and other rituals are performed. The great martyr Uar is considered the patron saint of those departed who did not undergo the baptismal rite in life.
