Moral values are one of the fundamental factors laid down in the foundation of normative regulation of human actions. This concept covers all spheres and areas of human life: moral views, principles, life guidelines, feelings. Morality regulates the actions and relationships of people, clearly delineates evil and good, separates honor from shame, and conscience from its absence. Moral values include the concepts of justice / injustice, cruelty, mercy, etc.

Without a single morality, a conflict-free life in society is impossible, because only such norms are able to regulate the actions of a person or an entire state.

Values influence the will of man. It is not that any individual is free to accept or not accept them at his own discretion. It is not that moral values can be beneficial or disadvantageous. Following generally accepted ethical standards is the duty of any person. Unscrupulous behavior, evasion of duty is regarded as a loss of morality, leads to condemnation by society, reproaches of one’s own conscience.

People who have no conscience and reject moral values are considered immoral.

If a person’s conscience does not fulfill the functions of internal control, if a person has no internal guidelines, he is immoral. An immoral person is capable of doing exclusively harm.

The highest moral values are the same for all times, for all nationalities. Respect for the elderly, parental sacrifice, respect for parents, caring for the weaker and infirm, these postulates are the foundation of life in any society, be it a small tribe or people of an economically developed country.

Human moral values did not arise from emptiness, they are dictated by the desire to survive, to extend their race, to leave offspring. That is why it is the duty of all women to keep the hearth, to “provide for the rear." Woman of all nations is a symbol of purity, wisdom, fidelity, and conscience. A man is obliged to be a breadwinner, a breadwinner, a person responsible for the wealth of the family. It is for the purpose of survival that children must necessarily listen to their parents' opinions and learn from their experience.

With the development of society, moral values are changing, and not always in a positive way. Today, when women no longer need to constantly maintain the unquenchable fire of the hearth, and men do not have to literally get food, public morality is changing. Women who are engaged in the maintenance of the family may pay less and less attention to raising children. More and more men, fearing to compete with strong women, get drunk.

Another example of a change in moral values over time is attitudes toward virginity. Even in our Russia some decades ago, the problem of the purity and virginity of the bride concerned not only the family, it was controlled by the public. Centuries ago, it was believed that a wife who married a virgin could not be driven out of her husband. It strengthened the family. Today, virginity is not a leading moral value. In our country, as in most industrialized countries, common marriages are considered commonplace and, as a result, a huge number of single mothers, broken families.

The concepts of good and evil are increasingly being replaced by the concepts of profit and income. Mutual assistance, conscience, empathy recedes into the background. This is not the first time in history, therefore it is thoroughly known: a state that has lost moral values is perishing.

Moral values, morality, morality is a form of collective consciousness. They form the social activity of each member of any society. Moral self-regulation is manifested in a person’s ability to personally control his behavior, evaluate actions.
