At first she was a simple referent and gradually rose to the deputy head of the department.

Moskalkova Tatyana Nikolaevna left her last post because of her election to the State Duma of the fifth convocation. She was nominated by the Just Russia party. Tatyana Nikolaevna became the deputy head of the committee for relations with compatriots in the CIS. In 2011, she was again nominated to the State Duma from Just Russia. She was a member of the commission involved in the verification of deputy income.

During her career, Tatyana Nikolayevna Moskalkova (deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation) became a co-author of 119 bills. Supported the law banning the adoption of Russian children by Americans. Some lawyers noted that certain laws greatly complicated the work of charitable foundations.
