Biography
Francis Canova - and this is exactly what the real name of the future screen star Natalie Delon sounds like - was born on August 1, 1941 in the city of Ujda (Morocco). Francis spent her childhood and youth in Casablanca, her parents divorced early, the girl’s mother was often ill, and therefore sent Francis to camps every summer. Being a withdrawn, unsociable child, the girl suffered greatly away from her mother.
When mother Francis re-married, the girl became very attached to her stepfather, and his unexpected death was a terrible blow for her. Later, the actress will say that this tragedy from childhood taught her not to become attached to people: "I just promised myself never to love anyone again."
At the age of 18, Francis married Guy Barthelemy, from whom she gave birth to a daughter, the girl was named Natalie. Francis always liked this name, and therefore, having named her daughter so, she soon changed her own name to Natalie.
Four years later, Francis-Natalie Canova divorced Barthelemy and left for Paris, hoping to become an actress.
Meeting with Alain Delon

Despite the difficult relationship in marriage, it was thanks to her husband that Natalie Delon became an actress. In 1967, Delon delivered the ultimatum to director Melville: either in the new film Samurai, he will star with Natalie, or he will not play at all. The film was very successful, critics appreciated Natalie's debut, and in her next film, "Private Lesson, " she appeared without her husband. Unusual appearance and cold, somewhat detached manner of playing became the hallmarks of Natalie Delon. Films with her participation, such as "When breaks eight bottles", "Be quiet, bass!" (in this film, Natalie starred again with Delon), "Monk" can be considered the best in her career. The roles of indifferent and arrogant women were very good at the actress.
