The future Soviet and Russian actor Oleg Strizhenov was born in the Amur Region in early August 1929. His father was a Red Army officer who went through the Civil War and World War II. Mother studied at the Smolny Institute, worked as a teacher.
In 1935, the family decided to move to the capital. There they found war. Two older brothers Oleg Alexandrovich together with the head of the family went to the front. After graduating from college, Oleg Alexandrovich was assigned to work in the Russian Drama Theater, which was located in Estonia. He played his debut role in the drama Guilty Without Guilt. The audience enthusiastically accepted the performance.

Theatrical career had to be postponed when Oleg Strizhenov was invited to the role of Arthur in the film adaptation of E. Voynich’s novel "Gadfly". The first main role went to the actor by accident.
