Agglomeration was formed in 1917 when connecting the villages: Orekhovo and Zuevo. In 1929, the working village of Dubrovka was added to the town. At the same time, there are few polluting enterprises in the city.

Then the downward trend prevailed, however, most of it fell precisely on the 90s. It was in the 90s that the population of Orekhovo-Zuevo went down. Further, the situation was more stable.
