When you arrive in Perm, one of the first attractions Permians will show you will be a monument to the heroes of the front and rear. It was created by the great sculptor of the twentieth century, who had already passed away - Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Klykov. The architect of this project in 1985 was Roman Ivanovich Semerdzhiev, who subsequently repeatedly worked with V. M. Klykov.
Perm Esplanade
Until the end of the last century, no one in the city had heard of such a place - the esplanade. There were residential two-story houses that were demolished in the middle of the twentieth century without regret. At first it was supposed to use the cleared space for the construction of new houses. The place was unattractive, far from central. But the architect G. Igoshin painted a green field here, thus preserving this area of the city for something else. Ostroslovy immediately dubbed her a local “airfield”.
But there were far-sighted people in those years in the West Ural Economic Council. Anatoly Soldatov, his leader, supported the decision of the architect. So the square appeared in the city, which everyone now knows as an esplanade.
Turning the outskirts of the city into its center
In 1982, the premises of the Perm Drama Theater were built here. Esplanade, being between him and the modern building of the Legislative Assembly, required a decent design.
At this time, the question of the location in Perm of a monument to the heroes of the front and rear to the 40th anniversary of the victory over the Nazis was being decided. The monumental construction required the possibility of its circular inspection, which is not easy to perform in the city. At the last moment, the decision was made in favor of the esplanade. The majestic monument became its center, balancing a huge area.
In the same 1985, near the monument to the heroes of the front and rear, a fountain with color music, unusual for the city, was launched, which was dismantled only after 26 years.

The worker, looking east, to where a huge country lies, where numerous factories and factories have been evacuated, raised his hand, uniting everyone who stands at the machines, sits on tractors, and works around the clock for the front. Basically it is, of course, children and women. But the complex, highly qualified work was carried out by specialists left for this in the rear.
