In St. Petersburg and its environs are quite beautiful park areas and lush forests. Some of these places deserve special attention due to their unique history and picturesqueness. What is remarkable about Alexandrino Park and is it open to visit these days?
According to the pages of history
For several centuries, the park zone had the status of a summer residence, i.e. transferred to the possession and use of different people, one way or another deserving such property. Initially, the estate was the property of the sister of Peter the Great - Natalya Alekseevna. After the death, the landowners were divided into two parts. One of them was handed over to Z. Mishutkov, who later became the admiral of the Baltic Fleet and built the “Baltic Court” on this site. The western part of the land (this is where the modern Alexandrino park is located) was transferred to diplomat P.A. Tolstoy. Later in different years S.V. Lopukhin and Prince V. Repnin. The longest owned by these lands was Ivan G. Chernyshev, who had friendly relations with the Empresses Elizabeth and Catherine II. It was he who built the palace in the style of classicism and set up an English garden. It was established that even foreign crowned persons came to enjoy the park and the chic house during a visit to Russia.
The fate of the estate after the revolution
After the death of I.G. Chernyshev's estate was inherited by his son. The new owner was forced to sell property to pay off debts. The estate was bought by the merchant Fedor Ilyin, but he also did not enjoy the acquisition for long. The next (and last) owner of the palace is Alexander Sheremetyev, it was in honor of him that Alexandrino Park got its modern name. After the revolution of 1917, the estate was given to the "people", turning it into a residential building. The palace was divided into a large number of separate rooms. They say that in the ballrooms, where more recently secular receptions were held, pigs were kept at that time. During the Great Patriotic War, the park and the palace were seriously damaged.
The revival of the palace
After the war ended, in the 60s of the last century, it was decided to restore the main building of the estate. The architect M. Plotnikov was engaged in this project. The facades were restored in a relatively short period of time. But with the interior of the palace, things were more complicated. Instead of the complete restoration and creation of the museum, they decided to renovate the building in a modern way and use it to the maximum benefit for society. Inside was opened a children's art school, which exists today. Alexandrino Park (St. Petersburg) is regularly landscaping. Here, trees are pruned, garbage removed, paths cleaned and repaired. The recreation area remains green, there are no modern attractions, cafes and other entertainment. But in the park there is always fresh air, enough greenery, birds and small wild animals live here.
Victor Tsoi in Alexandrino
This recreation area is unofficially considered one of the places of memory of the famous Russian musician Viktor Tsoi. The thing is that the leader of the Kino group really once lived nearby, on Veteranov Avenue 99, and often visited Alexandrino Park. There is even a video in which Victor walks with his newborn son in this recreation area. For more than a decade, musician fans have come to the park for walks. In the near future it is planned to erect a monument dedicated to the great artist in this recreation area.
