Gorky Park of Culture and Rest (Taganrog) recently celebrated its 210th anniversary. As part of the celebration of the anniversary, many interesting events took place, the main of which was the “Parade of Strollers and Children's Bicycles”.
In general, in this beautiful central corner of the city, children and adults have a lot of fun, and also with health benefits. Indeed, fresh, forest air always has a beneficial effect on the body!
History
It all started with the Pharmaceutical Garden, which was allowed to equip on the territory of Taganrog in the beginning of the XIX century. And so, the surveyor of the Rostov district, Sharzhinsky fulfilled the Garden plan. According to him, it was planned to plant an orchard in the territory, plant medicinal plants, as well as ornamental trees and bushes.
The work was completed, the area under the Garden was planted with plants, paths and alleys were arranged.
A lot of things have changed since then, because we had to go through changes, defeats, as well as complete deforestation and a new revival. In the 30s of the last century, the Garden was given the name of Maxim Gorky, which he bears to this day, although he began to be called the park.
At the end of the XIX century, Anton Pavlovich Chekhov was here and remained simply enchanted by the beauty of the area, the splendor and the many plantings, sounding music.
Park today
The park continues to delight its guests with even greater force, as it celebrated its 210th anniversary in September.
Gorky Park in Taganrog is a kind of focus not only for the recreation of citizens, but also for attracting them to cultural and social life. After all, every season, month, week takes place on its territory, within the walls of its buildings various interesting events. A variety of circles also work.

On the territory of Gorky Park in Taganrog there are five directions:
- Chess club "Grandmaster". Two groups work here (younger and older). Children are introduced to chess, specialized terminology, how the pieces are arranged, how they move along the chessboard, they teach various techniques and moves, and strategies for playing the game. This is very useful, because the game develops both hemispheres of the child, helps to think figuratively and logically. And also, here is an excellent teacher who inspires records.
- Theater Studio "Bird". Acts for the development of children's creative abilities in terms of theatrical art. There is a training in acting, the adoption and experience of a theatrical image, the proper presentation of oneself on stage. Children work on facial expressions, intonation, pantomime. They learn the sound culture of speech, voice control, proper dialogue. Thanks to training in the studio, children feel better in society, communicate more easily with peers, and show their talents.
- A circle of decorative and applied art is a wonderful, unique world of creativity, images, their embodiment through materials into reality. Children are trained in designing, modeling, thinking outside the box and approach to business. Also learn here the ability to form a composition, to wield hands, to subtly feel the material. Savvy and ingenuity develops. Pupils realize their unique creative potential.
- A vocal circle unites children in terms of realizing their vocal abilities. Young singers learn and perform classical songs, as well as folk and modern. This is a young circle (appeared in 2012), but has a fairly active position in the city. Repeatedly participates in music events, competitions. The teacher individually approaches each student.
- The dance team is engaged in learning and staging classical, modern and folk dances, pop numbers. The teacher manages to successfully develop in each student precisely his individual capabilities. Each child is revealed, realizes its potential. Dancing, as a sport, develops good habits, contributes to a healthy lifestyle. They also develop physically, form flexibility and the ability to control their body, and improve coordination.

But the favorite things for both children and adults in the park are carousels, trampolines and other attractions.
For adults:
“Orbit” is a rather extreme carousel, but incredibly interesting. Passengers sit in cabs (in a circle) in two, fasten their seat belts. They set off on an “exciting journey”, spinning faster and faster in a whirlwind of air flows and joy.
- “Surprise” is also one of the city’s favorite extreme attractions. It is also secretly called a “centrifuge”, since all passengers are literally pressed against the rear wall by centrifugal force and rotate at an incredible speed.
- "Wheel of review" - for those who wish to fly at an altitude of 27 meters above the ground, feel "weightless" at a bird's eye view and see the city.
- "Autodrome" is a very favorite attraction, especially for boys and men. Inside the enclosed pavilion, on the site with a moving surface, “cars” move. Everything is like on a real freeway.
- "Funny slides" - leaves an unforgettable pleasant experience. Along a circular platform at different levels — either ups and downs — a “train” moves out of the passenger cabins. Really fun.
- "Emelya" - is considered the most extreme in the park: a large boat with fastened passengers swinging to flight altitude.
- "Whirlwind" - a fun and airy ride that swirls in a whirlwind at high altitude.
For children:
- "Caterpillar" - circles children in a circle on their tubercles-booths.
- "Curly carousel" - rides horses, deer and elephants, which are located on a rotating platform.
- "Sun" - a high carousel, consisting of a center (sun) and rays with booths that rise up and rotate in a vertical circle.
- "Bell" - a carousel with cabin-petals of a bell for two children, swirls, slightly raising it above the ground.
- "Children's Railway" - a small train with wagons.
- "Fairytale worm" - a ride around the kids on a circle.
- "Children's circuit".
- Electric boats - ride children with adults on water.
- Water shooting range - here you can feel like a real shooter.
- Playground "Fairy Tale".
- Trampolines.
There is also the opportunity to ride horses.

Gorky Park in Taganrog always has a rich program of events. These are contests, and performances of children's groups, and thematic exhibitions, gala concerts, performances and much more.
