History of creation
The history of the park is very exciting and informative. Most scholars believe that this elevation could not fail to interest urban planners. In the time of Ancient Russia, the Mikhailovsky Golden-Domed Cathedral was erected at the very top, which was surrounded by log structures.
After the Tatar-Mongol troops attacked Kiev, this place became lifeless, and the mountain behind the monastery was used for burial of the dead. At the beginning of the 19th century, the situation changed significantly.
The Kiev authorities, trying to raise the position of Kiev, begin to praise Prince Vladimir, who is known not only as the baptist of Russia, but also as an experienced mentor and reorganizer.

Interesting facts from the past
Another striking fact is that in the place where various prayers are traditionally held, the monument itself was never consecrated. Around the same period, a park with the same name was created. But due to conflicts between the city authorities and the local clergy, the park has not been landscaped for many more years. The Nizhny Novgorod merchant Vasily Kokorev, walking around the park and appreciating the greatness of his beauty in 1863, donated capital to the local authorities for the construction of a gazebo on the upper tier of the hill.
In 1888, on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, a festive festivities were organized in the Vladimirskaya Gorka park (Kiev). And at the monument to St. Vladimir, a festive prayer took place and at the same time, a military parade was led on the upper terrace, led by Kiev Governor-General Alexander Drentelnom.
