Peter Wentz is an American musician and writer. He is known to the general public as the bassist, songwriter and backing vocalist of the rock band Fall Out Boy. But the main place in his musical career belongs to the pop punk band Fall Out Boy, which Pete founded together with the talented guitarist Joe Throman.

In 2003, the band released their first full-length album, Take This to Your Grave, in collaboration with the American record label Fueled By Ramen. In the same year, the band signed a contract with the largest label Island Records, and in 2004 a mini-album called My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue was released. The third album, From Under the Cork Tree, was released in 2005. Pete Wentz wrote the lyrics for the Sugar song, We're Goin Down. The composition took 8th place in the prestigious Billboard Hot 100.

In 2007, the fourth album of Infinity on High premiered. He was a great success not only in the USA, but also in Europe. The fifth studio album, Folie à Deux, was released on December 13, 2008 and debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 ranking. The group toured extensively in support of their albums.

On November 20, 2009, members of the group announced that they were taking a creative break for an indefinite period. During this period, Pete Wentz was happily married to Ashley Simpson and in an interview he said that he wanted to devote more time to his family. On February 4, 2013, Fall Out Boy unexpectedly announced their return, and on April 12, the group released a new album called Save Rock and Roll, which finished number one on the Billboard 200.

The sixth studio album American Beauty / American Psycho was released in 2015 and again rose to the first line in the ranking. The release of the seventh album Mania officially took place on January 19, 2018 and debuted in first place on the Billboard 200.
