A story that has become "viral." An Illinois police officer told how he helped a teenage girl after officers found out that she lived on her own. At Elgin’s police department, officers Kevin Snow and Hector Gutierrez received a call from Real Estate Manager Holly Lucy.
The girl talked about a teenage girl who came in and out of the apartment without parents for several days.

“There was a suspicion that the girl lives in an apartment alone, which is why I decided to visit this apartment in order to establish contact with the teenager, ” said officer Gutierrez. Initially, the teenager tried to convince the officer that her mother often lived at home. However, Lucy denied everything and confirmed to the police that she had never seen the girl with at least one of her parents.

“There are many situations where adults become addicted to drugs or alcohol, and in such situations, we are sure that the mother was dealing with her own addiction and she was not with her child, ” officer Snow commented.
