Moscow and the Moscow region have always been famous for their high level of development and modern approach to life. The leadership of the region strongly supports the participation of citizens in the social development of their native land.
In order to increase the initiative of residents of the cities of the Moscow Region in 2013, the Governor of the Moscow Region A. Yu. Vorobyov introduced a project called "Our Moscow Region".

The award, which was established by the governor of the Moscow Region, is an excellent motivation for socially active citizens who show their civic position not only by coming to the polls and dropping the ballot in the ballot box, but also coming up with and implementing various kinds of projects. Programs of this kind help to attract members of different social groups to participate in the life of the city, whether it be school children or the elderly.
The projects proposed by the participants of the award are distinguished by their scale, target audience and specificity.
Scale refers to the scope of the project and the size of the team that implements this project. In 2017, the bonus feature was the distribution of submitted applications into categories depending on the number of participants in the team. This method gives small-scale projects a chance to win - even a small contribution can be appreciated.

As mentioned above, the projects put up for the competition must meet certain requirements, one of which is strict adherence to the specified topics.
Each topic is responsible for one or another part of the life of citizens. For example, the Green Region is projects aimed at protecting the environment, landscaping and caring for homeless animals. "Cultural enlightenment" is one of the themes of the Governor's Award. The name speaks for itself. Projects falling into this category are aimed at improving the cultural level of citizens, developing creative potential, religious education - all that is so lacking in the people of the modern world. Among the proposed options there are more serious ones, such as the “Development Vector” - such projects are aimed at developing medical services, improving the level of education, introducing innovative technologies into everyday life, and much more.

- adulthood and permanent registration in the territory of the Moscow region;
