A simple pensioner living in Kiev on 11-A Raduzhnaya Street spent several years turning the dull, gray porch of his house into a real work of art. And just look what came of it!

It is safe to say: forces and time were spent not in vain. Now the native porch of Vladimir Chaika is more like a museum, rather than the stairwell of an ordinary high-rise building.

How did the work go

Thanks to the efforts of Vladimir, portraits of medieval women, golden stucco molding, unusual murals with swans, trees and fountains now flaunt on the floors.

Yes, being here, you just forget that this is an ordinary Kiev high-rise building. There is a feeling as if you are watching the masterpieces of the Hermitage or even Versailles.

According to the stories of his son Vladimir, a pensioner loves architecture and painting. Instead of retiring idle, he decided to do his favorite thing for the benefit of society. The transformation of the entrance took 15 years. But a pensioner does not spare any effort and time.

In work, Vladimir was helped by his son. Together they installed bulky decorative elements, the weight of which could reach 20-30 kg. They worked together on stucco molding and thought over the design.
