A river popular with tourists is located in Karelia on the territory of Loukhsky district. Emerging from the lake of the same name Keret, the watercourse stretches 80 kilometers in length and flows into the White Sea. The riverbed is fast, in the flood is stormy, so rafting, sports and tourist routes often take place here. The Keret River is rightfully considered one of the largest northern water streams not only in Karelia, but throughout Russia. The reservoir is notable for its slight deviation in comparison with other watercourses of Karelia, however in some places the speed of the water flow becomes dangerous for tourists.

Of course, here you can often meet groups of people rafting on the river in boats or kayaks. In the coastal zone, the Keret River is rich in diverse vegetation. Basically, its channel is surrounded by pine and spruce. Often you can find deciduous trees - birch and aspen. Local residents often visit the vicinity of the river to collect mushrooms and berries, medicinal herbs.
Fishing
Fishing in the Keret River is not the most popular entertainment, despite its abundance and diversity. Here you can easily meet pike, perch, ide, roach, burbot, even salmon. Unfortunately, the Keret River is a water area where there is a ban on fishing in some areas. Salmon are bred in the river, so fishing is not officially permitted in certain places, or there is a restriction on the equipment used for fishing. Nevertheless, on the tributaries of the river you can meet a huge number of fishermen, whose catch often reaches unprecedented sizes.
