The dream of many girls is to become a model and shine in the light of flashbulbs. For them, the podium is the path to a successful and beautiful life. But not everything is so rosy, the path from Cinderella to the princess is very laborious, and not everyone finds the strength and zeal in themselves to succeed.
But miracles do happen. Recently, the "New Channel" of Ukrainian television launched the incredible project "Supermodel in Ukrainian", which was launched for the second time in the fall of 2015. This reality show has helped many girls believe that it is real to make a dream come true on their own. The fact that not everything in this world is bought and sold yet, and talent is still in price, Alena Ruban, a winner from this project, could understand by her example. Here is her fashion story.
Alena Ruban - who is she?
At first glance, this girl is no different from her peers: a beautiful, slim, smiling brown-haired woman. And, perhaps, she would have remained one of many, if friends had not been forced to go to the casting of a TV show, where she immediately stood out not only due to her appearance, but also to her fighting character.
It was not accidental that she formed in her: Alena had a hard time in her life, but this tempered her. Firstly, the girl grew up without a father, and her mother died when she was only 9 years old. Her grandmother came with her, with whom until then she had little contact. At first it was hard for Alena to find a common language with her, she began to withdraw into herself. Also in her teens, she especially missed her mother. But over time, her grandmother became for her the most dear person who supported her in everything, including the desire to conquer the catwalks.
But Alena did not grow up a greenhouse child at all: from 10 years old she already knew how to cope with household chores, cook food, go shopping. This helped her become independent faster than others, thanks to which she gained confidence in herself and in her abilities.
Before the project
When Ruban Alena came to the show, it became known that in modeling she was not a beginner. The girl gained some experience, 2 years working as a model in private shows, she had dozens of photo shoots and even shootings in advertisements. This helped her to feel more confident, since she knew at least approximately the kitchen of the model school, unlike those participants who did not have the slightest idea about it. But, as Alena herself later said, all of her experience was just a drop in the bucket compared to what she still had to master.
She also managed to become a student of the Faculty of Philology with a degree in English and Literature. In general, the girl is simultaneously studying French and Italian. By the way, there is no way to do without this in the modeling business, because you need to freely communicate with foreign customers and photographers at photo shoots.
Alena Ruban: height, weight
Its parameters were almost exemplary. With a growth of 175 cm, a 19-year-old girl weighed 58 kilograms at the time of the start of participation in the casting. In general, her external data met the standard 90-60-90. Of course, the jury had complaints about her hip volume. The fact is that earlier Ruban Alena supported a sports figure by shaking her buttocks and leg muscles in a fitness center. And although this helped her to create elastic forms, but there was a lot of muscle mass. This was the reason for the excess volumes, and therefore she was forced to abandon classes in the gym, and switch exclusively to healthy eating.
Participation in the project
From the very beginning, the jury members relied on her as one of the leaders of the competition, because she knew how to come up with various poses, during work she was not lost, she did not have to tell what to do. Alena showed that she has excellent body control, knows her strengths and weaknesses, she has developed facial expressions.
Many photographers noted her ability to work and perseverance. Perhaps a certain experience in the modeling business affected. Anyway, but she was always ready to study and listened to the advice that judges and Alla Kostromicheva had given her. Therefore, at the photo shoots, Ruban Alena behaved moderately modestly, but confidently, never ached, did not complain about the shooting conditions. For this, she was respected by both Richard and Sonya, and especially Sergey Nikityuk.
The most difficult photo shoots for Alena were shooting in Odessa in a boat with dead fish (because of the terrible smell of rot), as well as in the Lviv citadel with a spider (I had to overcome a phobia).
Why did she win?
Alena had almost no failed photo shoots, so the judges mostly praised her. If there were any flaws, then she tried to immediately correct herself. Thanks to the work "perfectly", Ruban Alena won the sympathy of the audience and the judges, and it was in the hands of the latter that her fate was.
But not everything was smooth. In the final, she had serious rivals: Vlad Pecheritsyna and Tanya Bryk. But still, Tanya was sent home due to the fact that she still could not lose extra pounds in her hips, and Vlad was hard to change her facial expression, she was always the same. Therefore, the championship was awarded to Alena.
