early years

Sergei Ryzhikov was born in 1980, on September 19, in Shebekino. He began his path to great sport with his admission to the Sports School. As Sergey said, the influence of Alexei Polyakov, the goalkeeper from Shebekino, played an important role in this.

Ryzhikov began his professional career in 1999. Then he became part of the Belgorod “Salute”, which played in those times in the second league. In this case, the phrase "there would be no happiness, but misfortune would help." Salute was experiencing serious financial problems. Naturally, the club could not afford eminent players, so local pupils defended its honor. So at the age of 18, Sergei Ryzhikov turned out to be the goalkeeper of the starting lineup, in which he spent two years.
