A tent is a temporary and light structure that has supports (frame) and a coating of fabric, leather or other materials. The constructions have been known since ancient times, and the word itself is borrowed from the Turkic language, which later appeared among the Persians and means “roof” or “tent”. In the Old Russian language there is a synonym - "alachyucha".
History and Modernity
There is a mention of the tents in the Bible, in the part about Javal. Also in other parts of the Holy Scriptures it is said that the forefathers of the Jews lived in such structures.
To this day, for the nomadic peoples of Asia, the tent is a real portable home. They are made from goat hair, very dense, not even letting in rain.
Modern tents are used by travelers, fishermen and for outdoor events, they are made of synthetic, dense and fire-resistant materials and are real pre-fabricated temporary structures.
Differences from Awning
With today's huge diversity, it’s hard not to get confused and not to get confused between the concepts of “tent” and “tent”. It is easy to clarify and remember. A tent is a temporary shelter with a frame, and an awning in its essence is an ordinary canvas that can protect from rain or sun, but has no supports and is actually a part of the tent.
