Of the hundred babies born: 51 are males and the remaining 49 are females. But at the same time, only 95% of men manage to celebrate their thirty years, and 89% of the total number of births survive to forty. Moreover, throughout life, the number of male and female representatives is really compared. After the fiftieth birthday, there really are about 16% more women than their male peers.
What affects a person’s life expectancy?
Statistics on life expectancy in Russia against the background of world indicators is quite low, if we talk about men. This trend is due to several factors. Many of the stronger sex in our country work in harmful conditions, while other professions are associated with high risk. But chemical production, fire protection and safety services are in all states. Professional risks in the Russian Federation have such a high impact on human health and life due to the use of outdated equipment and technologies at many industrial facilities, as well as non-compliance with job descriptions by personnel. If we look at the statistics of industrial accidents, a significant percentage of them occur precisely due to the fault of employees or due to excessive wear of the equipment. The average age of men in Russia is quite low also through their own fault: passion for bad habits, love for extreme hobbies, indifference to their own mental and physical health.
