There are many varieties of mushrooms, but among them the truffle mushroom stands apart - an unusual delicacy that not everyone can try. He chose a special way of survival on the planet: he hid underground.

He skillfully hides, exuding an exceptional aroma that attracts animals. This technique is necessary for the truffle to breed. It does not resemble a mushroom in the usual sense of the word, more like twisted potatoes of a yellowish or brown color. The pulp is white, grayish and even happens to be almost violet. It has an unusual taste that turns any dish (even ordinary dumplings) into a real delicacy.
Here a species grows, which is called summer. Where does truffle mushroom grow in Ukraine, because you just can’t find it in the middle of the forest? Its area is the edges of oak forests with rich litter and acidified calcareous soils. The soil near the fungus becomes ash gray, the grass dries and dies. Truffles ripen in late summer - early fall.

In Ukraine, the culture of delicious white and black truffles completely disappeared at the beginning of the 20th century. And 20 years ago, the summer truffle also got into the Red Book, which is so loved by lovers of delicacies. The collection and sale of Ukrainian summer truffles is prohibited by the law "On the Red Book of Ukraine". And the mushroom will not leave its pages soon: it is not so easy to recover and almost does not lend itself to artificial cultivation.
Finding truffle mushroom in Ukraine where it grows is not an easy task. Specially trained dogs are sent to search for the mushroom, which by smell can find a delicacy. Such dogs cost several thousand euros. To search for the mushroom, pigs are also suitable, who smell it over 50m. So that they do not eat the mushroom (and the pigs have always loved it), the muzzle is bandaged with a ribbon or belt.
Where does truffle mushroom grow in Ukraine? Is it possible to grow it on a farm? Unfortunately, farm-based delicatessen breeding is failing. You need to correctly select the soil, prepare a special complementary food, create the necessary conditions for growing mycelium, plant suitable varieties of oak. And all this does not guarantee that the truffle will take root on this earth. In fact, you need to create a complex ecosystem, as in nature. But under artificial conditions, this has not yet been possible.
