Valery Khalilov: biography

The artistic director of the world-famous Alexandrov ensemble was born on January 30, 1952 in the small town of Termez in Uzbekistan. His father was also a military conductor. The boy began to study music from the age of four. With eleven years, Valery Khalilov began to study at the Moscow Military Music School. First, he entered the clarinet class with a teacher E. Yegorov, and then - at the piano with T. Sokolova. It was this educational institution that laid the musical foundation in the young man, which later helped him become a military conductor.

From 1970 to 1975, the future leader of a whole musical group studied in the Moscow State. conservatory at the military conducting faculty in the class of Professor G.P. Alyavdin.

Job

The first place of his service was the Pushkin Higher Command School, specializing in air defense electronics. Here Valery Khalilov led the orchestra. In 1980, the collective, the conductor of which he was, took first place in the competition of the Leningrad Military District.

A year later, Valery Khalilov transferred to teaching at the department of the military conducting faculty of the Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky. In 1984, he was transferred to the disposal of the USSR Armed Forces - to the administration of the military orchestra service. Here he rose to the rank of deputy head of the military orchestra unit.

From 2002 to 2016, Valery Khalilov was the head of the country's military orchestra service - the Chief Military Conductor of Russia. Being in this position, he repeatedly performed in parades on Red Square dedicated to Victory Day as the head of the combined orchestra. In May 2015, the conductor became a member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Celebratory Culture Regional Public Organization.

It was Valery Khalilov who authored such famous works written for a brass band as Elegy and Adagio, as well as marches Cadet, Ulan, Youth, Rynda, etc. He owns a lot of songs. and romances. But the most important event in the life of Khalilov, which many today call fateful, occurred in April 2016. It was then that Valery Mikhailovich was appointed to the post of artistic director and head of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army. A. Alexandrova. A family

Valery Mikhailovich Khalilov met his wife in Gagra, even when he was the most ordinary soldier. He conquered the young beauty Natalia with his incredible ability to play several musical instruments. Due to the fact that the wife of Valery Khalilov hails from Abkhazia, his life was closely connected with this place. The couple dreamed of building a small house near Natalya’s father’s plot. And they succeeded.

V. Khalilov was a member of the Russian Union of Composers. He was awarded the title of People's Artist. Khalilov’s list of awards includes two orders and several medals.
