In a noisy and crowded Moscow, there is a wonderful corner where adults can relax their souls from the bustle of the capital, and children literally touch wildlife. This is a contact zoo on Teply Stan. Its organizers came up with one innovation that distinguishes their institution from dozens of similar ones. To make it more interesting for young visitors to get acquainted with nature, they organize small theatrical performances in which they very clearly, in a playful way, tell and show how to handle a goat and a raccoon, a squirrel and a hedgehog, because each animal has its own preferences and its own character. Location, how to get there
There are two such zoos in Moscow. The first in the Zyuzino district in the Azov shopping center, near the Sevastopolskaya metro station, the second in the Teply Stan district, in the popular shopping center with the spectacular name Twin Plaza. For those who will get to the zoo by car, a guarded parking lot near the shopping center is an undoubted advantage. Payment for a parking place is only 50 rubles per hour, while the first half hour is free.
Description
The contact zoo in Teply Stan is not equipped outdoors, but indoors, on the third floor of the shopping center. It is small in area, all cages and pens with animals are located here quite compactly. Despite its modest size, 30 species of animals and birds found a home in the zoo. Employees diligently care for their pets, so the cages are always clean and tidy. According to visitors' reviews, in the morning it smells of fresh sawdust pleasantly, and only in the late afternoon a faint smell inherent in places where animals are kept appears. For the convenience of visitors, there is a dressing room at the entrance to the zoo, where everyone except the youngest children is given shoe covers for free. A washbasin is equipped nearby so that everyone can wash their hands. Animal feed is also sold here. The fact that the zoo is located in the shopping center, on the one hand, is a little inconvenient, as animals, both domestic and wild, are kept indoors. But on the other hand, visitors taking a walk around the zoo can visit the shopping center café, which offers delicious drinks and sweets.
Zoo Hand Dwellers
Most of the animals here are kind and completely harmless, because this zoo is contact. In the Warm Camp in the zoo, children can pet a good goat and affectionate lambs, a cute pony horse and a not at all peppy lamb, hold fluffy rabbits and funny guinea pigs in their arms. Among the forest and steppe inhabitants, kids are interested in watching hedgehogs and chinchillas, squirrels and raccoons. They can also be hand-fed, but access to their enclosures is permitted only under the supervision of employees.
The contact zoo located in Teply Stan has many birds, some of which are very tame. These are pigeons and budgies. They, too, are happy to peck grains directly from the palms of visitors. There are males and crows that are well known to children. It’s also interesting to watch them, because they reveal themselves from new angles. Among the living creatures that can be fed, the zoo has slightly slow-moving red-eared turtles and very nimble colored carps.
Wildlife representatives
In the Warm Camp, the contact zoo in its collection has not only hand-made animals, but also those that are not recommended to be ironed. But on them, children can admire close by to find out what the wolf and the fox look like in reality, the honey bear and skunk, porcupine and meerkats, arctic fox and sika deer. Entering these animals is not permitted even when accompanied by staff. Among birds, ostriches are of great interest to children and their parents. They stick their heads out of the aviary so funny. These large birds are also allowed to feed, and the most daring can even stroke them.
Visiting Rules
People with any income have the opportunity to come to the contact zoo in Teply Stan. The entry price on weekdays of the week is 300 rubles for anyone older than three years. On weekends and holidays, a ticket costs 50 rubles more. Those who are 14 years old or younger can go to the zoo for free, and pensioners and children from large families with a 50% discount. Food for animals also costs very little, only 50 rubles for a plastic cup with grains or vegetables.
The zoo is open from 8 am to 9 pm without days off and breaks.
A whole children's center is organized in the shopping center, where you can not only see animals, but also celebrate your birthday. Also here there is a service “departure with animals to the house to the customer”. Hedgehogs, chinchillas, ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs are sent to visit.
