Woman with a good heart

The granddaughter of Irma's grandmother, Eliza Coltro, shared pictures of her nonna on social networks. For those who don’t know, nonna is the “granny” in Italian. Photos quickly became viral, and thousands of users left enthusiastic and emotional comments under the girl's posts. And of course, they wondered why nonna Irma was flying to Kenya. The girl replied that her grandmother for many years through a missionary gave donations to an orphanage in Kenya. But a missionary named Don Remigio, who dedicated 50 years of his life as a volunteer, was hospitalized. And grandmother Irma decided that she needed to fly to Kenya in order to visit the missionary and work as a volunteer.

Volunteers in Russia

As Eliza Coltro notes, her grandmother is a great example of how a person should live, not live his life. It was not enough for the old woman to simply send money to a Kenyan orphanage, she also wanted to become a volunteer herself.

The story of Irma's grandmother from the Italian city of Veneto is an excellent example of the fact that a person can do much more for society than certain organizations and officials, if he wants. By her example, she showed that age is not a hindrance to volunteering. And there are many such people around. They just do not advertise their noble deeds. But people still learn about them. In Russia, an annual awards ceremony is held for volunteers in various nominations. For example, in 2018, Anton Korotchenko received an award for the Healthy Village project. In addition to Anton, volunteers in the project are teachers and students of Smolensk State Medical University. Volunteers travel to the most remote villages of Russia and teach the local population to provide first aid. In addition, they conduct diagnostics and give advice to everyone.

And in Krasnodar, the Generation leisure center helps pensioners find a second youth. Here they learn dancing, singing and have a good time with other senior citizens.

Of course, any good deed that makes the lives of other people better is of great importance. And one of them is to help the pupils of the orphanage. After the children go out of his door, they are forced to learn what others are taught by their parents. Olga Skotnikova and volunteers of the Gift of Fate project come to the rescue of such children. They teach former pupils from orphanages in the Ulyanovsk Region to live independently - choose a profession, earn and save money, make important decisions.
