Aaron Lennon: biography, acquaintance with football

He was born on April 16 in 1987 in the city of Leeds (West Yorkshire, England). From the age of six he began to play football. He studied at the Leeds High School, and then transferred to the Boston Sports School, where he focused on football. Already at the age of eight, Aaron was noticed by the scouts of the Leeds United club and offered to train with them. The guy met the expectations of the coaching staff of the “peacocks” and was an irreplaceable leader of each age structure. At the age of 14, he was offered a contract from Adidas to create unique, personalized boots. Aaron has an older brother who played on the Manchester United youth team.

Professional Football Leader United

He began his football career at Leeds United, where he made his debut in the first team in 2003 (becoming the youngest debut player in the history of the English Premier League at that time). Aaron was 16 years old and 129 days old when he first appeared in a Leeds T-shirt on the pitch against the Tottenham Hotspur club (losing 2-1). Aaron Lennon scored his only and debut goal against Sunderland. In this match, “peacocks” won 3–2, but if it weren’t for Lennon, who replaced instead of John Oster, the match could have turned in the opposite direction. After this match, Leeds fans and fans recognized Aaron Lennon as the superstar of their favorite club. They adored when Lennon entered the field and created dangerous moments at the gates of the opponent. No one could keep up with him - the young midfielder was the fastest in the English Premier League. He took the ball away from his half of the field and ran along the edge like a “flash”, and when he reached the penalty line, he could demonstrate his accurate cannon strike or assist the teammates who completed the attack with a goal.

In 2005, financial problems began at the club, in connection with which the management decided to sell young talent. The first in line was Tottenham Hotspur, which was prepared to pay £ 1 million for its transition. At that moment, many Leeds fans experienced real grief: firstly, the best player of their club was leaving, and secondly, the player’s transfer price was clearly underestimated.

Between 2003 and 2005, Aaron Lennon played 38 official matches for Leeds, in which he managed to distinguish himself with one goal scored.

Go to Tottenham Hotspur

In 2005, Lennon transferred to the Tottenham Hotspur club. The amount of the transfer transaction, as mentioned above, at that time amounted to 1 million pounds. Here he will make his debut in a few months in a home match against London's Chelsea (defeat 2-0). In March 2006, Aaron Lennon scored his first “spurs” in the 65th minute in a away match against Birmingham City (2-0 victory).

In the seasons 2005/2006 and 2006/2007, Lennon claimed the award “The most promising young football player of the year according to the PFA (Professional Football Association)”, but first lost to striker Wayne Rooney, and then to Cristiano Ronaldo. In January 2007, Aaron Lennon (photo below) signed a new five-year contract with the Spurs.

Champions League Triumph

February 24, 2008 Lennon heroically won a victory for his club in the Champions League Cup final against London's Chelsea. Then the main time ended in an equivalent fight with a draw 1-1. The match went into an extra 15 minutes, where Lennon managed to score a winning goal against Peter Cech. At the end of the 2008/09 season, Aaron was again nominated for the title of “Most Promising Young Player of the Year according to the PFA, ” but happiness turned his back on him and this time Ashley Young became the winner.

In September 2012, Lennon signed another four-year contract with the Tottenham club. From that moment on, the midfielder was appointed team captain. In 2014, the football player said that he intends to leave the club, because he was not in the interests of the new “spurs” coach Mauricio Pochettino.

In the period from 2005 to 2015, Lennon held 267 official matches as part of the Lily White and scored 27 goals.

Rent at Everton

In February 2015, Aaron Lennon was leased to Everton. Queens Park Rangers scored their first goal on March 22, 2015 (2-1 win). The lease stipulated that the midfielder would return to Tottenham at the end of the game season.

At the beginning of the 2015/16 Premier League season, the winger did not make it to the club’s base and was sent to training with the team under 21 years old. Head coach of the “spurs” Mauricio Pochettino said that the swift midfielder is not competent for the main team. After these words, Lennon said that he intends to finally say goodbye to the club.
