He began to engage in freestyle wrestling at the age of eleven, his father took the boy to the section. According to an old habit, Gadisov came to training without shoes and in his old kimono, in which he went to Wushu. The head coach was surprised that the guy came to the training barefoot and ordered to wear anything, at least socks. As a result, the boy had to spend the whole training in his father's socks, which he was knee-deep.

He studied at the Makhachkala branch of Rostov University at the Faculty of Economics, where he received higher education. He is a pupil of the sports school Dynamo Makhachkala. His closest trainers are Imanmurza Aliyev and Gaidar Gaydarov. During the training, Abdusalam devoted a large amount of time to training in the gym. The athlete achieved significant results in strength training, but soon realized that the technical component in the ring was also very important.

At the youth competitions Gadis there were not enough stars from the sky. Of course, he was very worried, but the coaches of Imanmurz Aliyev and Gaidar Gaydarov reassured him and said that if he did not give up and continued to fight and give all the best, as before, the desired result would be achieved. Time passed, and as it turned out, the coaching staff was on the side of the truth.
