Michael Cunningham is an American novelist, screenwriter and director. It is widely known for its 1998 novel "Watch", which won the Pulitzer Prize in the "Fiction" category. Cunningham also lectures at Yale University.
Michael Cunningham Biography
Cunningham was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America on November 6, 1952. Grew up in Pasadena, California. He studied English literature at Stanford University, where he received a degree in English. Later he entered the University of Iowa, where he received a scholarship and a master's degree in art from the Iowa State Creative Writing Program. During the training, his stories were published in the monthly Atlantic Atlantic magazine and in the Paris Review magazine.
His story “The White Angel” was later used as a chapter in the novel “House at the End of the World” and was included in the list of “Best American Tales of 1989” published by Hogton Mifflin.
In 1993, Michael Cunningham received the Guggenheim Award. In 1995, he was awarded the Whiting Prize. He studied art in Provincetown, Massachusetts. I attended a creative writing course at Brooklyn College.

The novel The Clock made Michael Cunningham one of the most powerful contemporary writers in the United States in the eyes of readers and critics.
Cunningham edited Walt Whitman's poetry and prose collection, Rights for Creatures, and co-wrote the script for Susan Minot for the film adaptation of Minot's novel Evening. Also became the producer of this film. It featured such famous actors as Glenn Close, Tony Collet and Meryl Streep.
In November 2010, Michael Cunningham was on the jury of the competition for writers "Fiction in Three Minutes."
