She married Katie for the first time to Stephen Shepard when she was only 20 years old. Young people met when they were 18, met for two years, until they realized that everything was serious. A few months after the wedding, they became happy parents. They have three beautiful children: Gracelyn 11 years old, Cailin 10 years old and Colston 5 years old.

A few years later, Katie met her new love. It turned out to be Ben Blackmer, who, together with his 19-year-old son from his previous marriage, soon moved to Katie and her children.
Katie also regularly met with her ex-husband because they decided to raise their children together. Relations between former spouses have improved.
