The city of Novosibirsk, the capital of the Siberian region, was founded in 1893 during the construction of a bridge across the Ob during the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. This historical event predetermined the fate of the city as the largest transport center of Siberia, connecting traffic from west to east and from north to south.

Bridges in Novosibirsk

Modern Novosibirsk is located not on two banks of the Ob and is divided into Left and Right banks, which are dynamically developing as large industrial, industrial and scientific entities. Accordingly, the need for satisfying the needs of the population in unhindered communication of both parties in the process of an ever-increasing volume of freight and passenger traffic is growing.

To address these issues, three bridges were built and commissioned:

  1. Municipal (year of construction 1955).

  2. Dimitrovsky (1982).

  3. Bugrinsky (2014).

In addition, there are two bridges of narrow functional purpose: a metro bridge (1985) and a lock bridge at a hydroelectric power station (2007).

Construction of the Bugrinsky bridge

The third bridge in Novosibirsk has a long history of its origin. An urgent need for its construction was identified at the end of the last century, in the eighties. However, due to historical realities, the collapse of the system of state regulation of the economy in the conditions of the Soviet Union, the idea was embodied after almost three decades.

Only in 2009, preparatory work began on the construction of the Bugrinsky bridge.

Initially, it was called, in the working version, the Olovozavodsky bridge, by the name of the place of its construction. There was a tin factory in this zone.

In 2013, its name was changed to "Bugrinsky", which was officially fixed in the documents. In 2010, the construction of this structure began with the laying of the bridge supports. In April 2014, it ended when the arches were closed at a height of 70 meters, which became the decoration of the Bugrinsky Bridge (Novosibirsk), their photo in the present symbolizes new approaches to the construction of bridge structures.

Opening

The new Bugrinsky bridge (Novosibirsk) was commissioned at the end of 2014. The grand opening marked a new stage in the development of the transport system of the city.

By connecting the right and left banks of the city of Novosibirsk, the bridge made it possible to significantly relieve the city center in terms of cargo flow.

The connection of the federal highway M51 Novosibirsk-Omsk and M52 Novosibirsk-Biysk-Tashanta, as well as the regional highway Novosibirsk-Leninsk-Kuznetsk, is the functional purpose that the Bugrinsky bridge performs according to the project. Its construction was an integral part of the project to improve the transport infrastructure of national importance.

Novosibirsk in the process of building bridges is playing the role of a federal transportation hub more and more.

Image

That is why the importance of the construction of the bridge was indicated by the personal presence of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on October 8, 2014. The Bugrinsky bridge, the opening of which became a noticeable event of the city, and the government delegation against it are captured in numerous photos at the time of its commissioning, this fact became the next page in the history of the city on the Ob.

Purpose and mission

The construction of the Bugrinsky bridge is only one of the stages in a large-scale project of state purpose of South-West transit of Novosibirsk.

This will allow coordinating the traffic flows of the Eastern Bypass of the city and access to the M52 federal highway, Omsk Trakt, Gusionbrodsky Trakt and access to Tolmachevo Airport.

Thus, the Bugrinsky bridge, the opening of which together with the traffic intersections on the right and left banks (the total length of 5.5 kilometers) will be the solution to a whole range of problems of communication of the most important urban transport hubs and an element in improving urban transport infrastructure.

Denouement

The Bugrinsky bridge (Novosibirsk), the opening of which was so long-awaited for the residents of the city, has two interchanges: Vatutinskaya and Bolshevik.

Together with them, the length of the Bugrinsky bridge crossing (more than two kilometers) will be more than five kilometers of the main route. The Vatutinsky interchange is four entrances, one directional exit and two pedestrian bridges. The road itself is designed for six-lane traffic, the denouement is made in the form of a "figure eight".

The denouement on the Bolshevik is made in three levels, in the form of a cascade. Its total length is more than three thousand meters and has four exits. Thus, the Bugrinsky bridge, the interchange of which on the Bolshevik Street allows transport to get from the right bank to the left bank with great time savings, significantly unloads the traffic from the city center and Akademgorodok. It serves as a good solution to the redistribution of traffic on an urban scale.

The bridge as a symbol of the city

From its inception to the present, the bridge remains a symbol of the city. Like its essence, purpose and perspective. Therefore, much attention on the part of society is paid to the fact that the Bugrinsky Bridge (Novosibirsk) was erected. The opening of this building has been the subject of wide discussion.

The symbol of the unification of the two sides of a single whole - the municipality, really carries a great creative meaning. This is the path to the organic integrity of the city and a civilized system of urban transport communications. The Bugrinsky bridge, a photo of which adorned the pages of personal blogs of Novosibirsk citizens, served as the occasion for creating a chronicle of the construction of city bridges.

Problems

Further development of transport infrastructure remains a priority for both municipal and state policies. With the economic prerequisites of the current state of the city and the intensity of the development of a personal fleet, according to experts, it is necessary to design not the fourth but the seventh bridge.

The Bugrinsky bridge, the opening of which in Novosibirsk was an important step in solving transport problems, does not solve the main issue. It consists in the fact that it is necessary not to follow the problems, more important is to warn them in the future. This requires at least two more bridge floors on the Ob.
