A lot is said about civil society today. Who is talking about him? Yes, everyone is not lazy: politicians during their agitation, opposition representatives assuring us that everything in our country is completely different from what it should have been, various contemporary figures and so on.

It is not necessary to think that civil society is a society whose representatives are citizens, since in reality it is something more. In fact, this is a sphere of self-government, founded by citizens, which appeared on its own, that is, without interference from government bodies.

Civil society concept

If you delve into what our rulers say on television, we can conclude that they are seriously thinking about creating such a society. Yes, it exists in many countries: why should Russia be the exception?

They say a lot about him, but the problem as it was, and remains that not everyone understands what is at stake. Like many years ago, the first persons of the country cannot really explain anything. What is civil society and why should it be built at all? Let's try to figure this out together. It has special distinguishing features that must be considered separately.

Civil society is a society in which the rights of not only privileged individuals, but also everyone else are respected. It is often said that we are all equal, but is this really so? Take a look around: the rich take the poor for working cattle, unable to think or show any feelings, those people who receive power in their hands begin to think only about their further enrichment, and they do not care about the problems of everyone else.

Resources are not allocated correctly. For this reason, it turns out that people are unequal. Violation of rights is still commonplace.

Civil society is characterized by the fulfillment of private interests. How to understand this? The fact is that we live in a state to which we must obey. Yes, submission is necessary, but the state cannot and should not have full power over citizens, just like the right to intervene in people's thoughts, impose their ideas on them, decide something for them.

Civil society also has such a foundation as pluralism. It is customary to mean something like multi-truth. The point is that you need to be correct in that the opinion of someone may not coincide with your own opinion. Civil society members respect each other's opinions.

Harassment of someone due to property status, level of education, nationality and all the like is unacceptable.

Very important is such a sign of civil society as self-government. People should be able to realize what they think. What is the use of great ideas if no one ever tries to bring them to life? They shout from all sides that we live in a democratic society. What is democracy? This is a people's government, this is when issues concerning the future of the country are decided not by individuals, but by all people together.

It should be noted that self-government is developed today, but it is not developed as we would like. Most people still do not understand how to influence people in power.

Civil society is associated with economic well-being. There should not be a gap between the rich and the poor. When retiring, a person should know that he will have the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved rest, and teachers and doctors, getting a job, should feel that the salary will be equal to the significance of their work.

Is civil society possible in modern Russia? This is a difficult question, since the situation in our country is still not the best, and politicians are only able to think about themselves.
