As you can guess by its name, Dolgoprudnensky cemetery is located near the town of Dogoprudny near Moscow. Not far from the Moscow Ring Road. This is one of the largest metropolitan cemeteries. Today it consists of two parts. In 1975, a little south was opened Dolgoprudnensky cemetery south. And the central one has existed since 1957, it is based on the site of a rural cemetery that previously existed here. Their total area is 84 hectares. Currently, the reserve for expansion has been exhausted, there is no more free territory in the neighborhood.
What is it today?
At present, only related burials are made here, as well as urns buried in the ground or in the columbarium. Administratively, the Dolgoprudnensky cemetery is a structural unit of the State Unitary Enterprise "Ritual", one of the office offices of which is located to the right of the entrance gate, next to the ritual supplies store. The layout of the territory leaves much to be desired; it does not fully comply with the logistic rules. This is reflected in the fact that the scheme of the Dolgoprudnsky cemetery is quite complex and does not always have clearly thought-out numbering of alleys and sites. This is due to the fact that its modern territory was formed in stages. But in terms of landscaping and general improvement, everything here corresponds to generally accepted municipal urban planning standards. Throughout all seasons of the year Dolgoprudnensky cemetery receives many visitors. It is crowded here on weekdays, not to mention Parent's day, when a visit to the cemetery is considered mandatory. These are the traditions. On the ninth day after Easter, it is customary to commemorate the departed. You can do this at the cemetery by placing a memorial candle in one of two Orthodox churches: St. George the Victorious and St. Sergius of Radonezh.
Graveyard layout and mode of operation
For all the intricacy of the layout, it is still possible to trace the pattern in it. The numbering of the plots goes in ascending order from left to right and as they move deeper into the cemetery. The largest plot number is 136a. It is located in the far right corner of the territory. The operating mode does not differ from other objects of the State Unitary Enterprise "Ritual". Dolgoprudnensky cemetery is open for visitors from 9 am to 7 pm in the summer and from 9 am to 5 pm in the winter season. Burials are made from 9 to 5 pm daily.
