It is difficult to say why at one time the inhabitants of the USSR "fell ill" with Indian cinema. Most likely, this was due to the desire of an ordinary citizen from the depths to forget about his problems and gray everyday life and admire the beautiful women in bright dresses, famously dancing dances full of eroticism and sensuality, against the backdrop of colorful oriental landscapes.
Oddly enough, and today there are many fans of paintings produced in Bollywood. True, it should be recognized that among the products of modern Indian cinema there are also good films, which differ in greater than before, the plausibility of the plot and the naturalness of the actors' play. Yes, and among the stars of Bollywood at the moment there are many young men and girls whose appearance attracts representatives of the most famous Western modeling agencies.
Among these actors is Chetan Hansraj, whose films are also available in Russian translation.
Childhood
Chetan Hansraj was born in 1982 in Mumbai, in a rather wealthy and intelligent family of a businessman and a pathologist. Father and mother always supported the boy, and he had extremely warm and trusting relationships with them.
Chetan was educated at the prestigious Jamnabai Narsee IB Juhu School. Despite the obvious abilities in many areas, the boy was not considered a good student, since at the age of 7 he began to appear on television and often missed classes because of work.
At school, Chetan met and made friends with Vishal Gandhi, who later became one of the macho of Indian cinema. Even today they are connected by fraternal friendship, which often causes envy among others.
In addition to working on television, the young man was actively involved in sports. In particular, he repeatedly participated in all-India water polo competitions. As part of the youth team of his native city, he even became the silver medalist of these prestigious sports.
At the age of 14, Cetan Hansraj first visited abroad in France. A particularly strong impression was made on him by Paris, where the actor often travels with his family on vacation now. A year after the trip, the young man starred in the video of Shvet Shetty for a song from his album Deewane (his partners were Kushal Punjabi and Ashkadip Saigal), which was shown to a wide audience in 1997.
Dreams of a modeling career
At the time Chetan was finishing school, his cousin - Jugal Hansraj - was already a famous actor and model. Once a young man in a conversation with his mother said that he would like to follow in his footsteps. The woman was glad about this decision of her son and began to send his photos to modeling agencies. She believed in the success of her handsome man “over a meter 90” and hoped to witness his triumphal march on the catwalks of the world. For a long time, Chetan Hansraj did not receive any worthy offers and, probably, would have despaired, if not family support. At the same time, he managed to graduate from NIFT College, having taken a course in 3D animation and received a designer's specialty.
First steps to success
Fortunately, one of the friends of the future film actor was going to take part in a show hosted by the company Balaji. He invited the young man to bring his photographs there. Suddenly it turned out that after the presentation, casting would take place to work on television. Chetan Hansraj successfully coped with his task and got a role in the film "Kusum", where he played a good character.
Careers in film and television
The most successful project, in which Chetan Hansraj took part (see photo below), is the popular Indian soap opera Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Its name translates as "The story typical of every home." In this series, the actor got the role of the main villain - Shashank (Sasha). He played it so believably that many viewers now often confuse Chetan with his hard-hearted and vengeful hero.
Today, the actor starred in the historical film Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan. It is fundamentally different from those films in which Chetan Hansraj has played before. He will again have to act as a cruel villain - Raja Bhimdev - but this has not frightened the actor, who is accustomed to such a role, for a long time.

Once, after a quarrel with friends, Chetan Hansraj, whose biography is already known to you, went alone to a disco. There he saw a beauty who struck him at first sight. She was Lavania Pareira, who was resting in the company of friends of Chetan. They began a stormy romance, and in 2004, the girl married the actor and gave birth to his son. According to Chetan himself, the wife is the second man after his mother, to whom he owes his career. She accompanies him everywhere and is a muse and a good friend who gives wise advice.
