Non-tropical hurricanes can occur in other places on the planet, but the reason for their appearance is the same: the difference in temperature and atmospheric pressure in different layers of the atmosphere. The most dangerous are hurricanes that form near the coast. Rushing at a frantic speed, they are able to sweep entire cities out of their way. What is a hurricane? This is a terrible danger, which man has not yet learned to prevent. These are hundreds of dead, destroyed economy, destroyed cities.
Hurricane Katrina
It happened in August 2005 and remains one of the
the most destructive. It began to form in the Bahamas and a day later reached such a strength that it received the fifth, highest category, not yet reaching America. This means that the wind speed exceeded 280 kilometers per hour. At this speed, far from all technical devices can move on the ground. Reaching the United States, Katrina swept away New Orleans, destroying 1836 Americans. More than 700 of them lived in New Orleans. Four states were immediately in the zone of action of the hurricane. An emergency was announced in them, the population was evacuated, but they could not prevent the destruction: people do not yet have such skills. The damage that Katrina inflicted on the United States amounted to $ 125 billion. What is a hurricane? This, as the experience of New Orleans has shown, is a rampant crime. Marauders moved freely around the ruined city, robbing shops and miraculously surviving buildings. Several shellings of the city hospital were recorded. How is a hurricane formed?
