Few people believe in fairy tales and miracles. But in the life of those who believe, one day a miracle surely comes. This happened with one girl from a simple family. Unknown to anyone, Diana Starkova (model) is today the ideal of many girls trying to conquer world catwalks. How did she succeed and what is she doing today? Read this article.
Difficult childhood
So who is Diana Starkova ?? The biography of the girl is very interesting. She was born in a family of engineers on December 29, 1989. When the girl turned 5, her parents divorced, and her mother sent her to live with her parents. Grandfather and grandmother raised the girl in excessive severity and, as Diana later recalled, she often cried in her childhood due to the fact that she was punished. The reason could be a reluctance to eat soup, not to mention something more serious. Once Diana’s mother took her to her, but she did not get along with her stepfather, her father’s best friend, and the woman sent her daughter back to her parents.
Youth
The girl’s life was not easy, not only at home, but at school - there, in a circle of peers, she felt not at ease. Books were an outlet, as Diana Starkova later noted in an interview. Her favorite genre was science fiction, which made it possible to break away from reality and plunge into imaginary worlds, where life was much more interesting. She also liked to view glossy magazines and read reports from beauty contests. Model life seemed like a fairy tale. Being a little girl, Diana Starkova could not even imagine that one day she herself would become the heroine of such a fairy tale.
Time passed, the girl studied and even changed several schools in search of a better team. And she was lucky - in the third Diana Starkova met not only good teachers, but also friends. On the advice of her father, who believed that without knowledge of English there is nothing to do in life, the girl carefully studied the language. And, of course, he later came in handy more than once!
The first steps
They say that accidents in life are not accidental. And so it happened in the life of the future then model. After the 9th grade, Diana Starkova together with the class decided to take a photo as a keepsake. A woman photographer immediately saw the model data in the girl and suggested making several professional photos for the future portfolio. Although the girl was not sure of her beauty, she nevertheless agreed. And not in vain - after the first professional photo shoot on a chamomile field near the very studio, her photos fell on the cover of famous Russian and Ukrainian magazines.
Contests
But not only photo shoots made the girl famous. The first beauty contest in which the model took part was the "Elite Model Look" (Elite Model Look), held in Kiev. She went there with her grandmother. Out of inexperience, she stepped onto the podium with her head bowed. Although she could not take the prize, she made acquaintances in modeling agencies. But, as in any fairy tale, an obstacle appeared in front of the girl - in order to accept offers of cooperation, she had to move to the Ukrainian capital. Mom and grandmother opposed this idea, but her father sided with her, and Diana moved to Kiev. There, after an unsuccessful attempt to enter the theater, she became a student at the Institute of Tourism, which she graduated with honors and even organized an intra-university beauty contest. In parallel with her studies, Diana went to modeling agencies. Until the age of 18, until she received a passport, she took part in beauty contests in Ukraine. But soon the girl opened up opportunities to speak on the world catwalks. As noted in an interview with Diana Starkova, she liked beauty contests more than working as a model, as the types in these two similar areas were somewhat different.
The first international competition was a beauty contest in Malta, where Diana received the title of "Miss Bikini", won the car and signed a contract for 100 thousand dollars.
The second conquered world peak was a competition in the Emirates, for which Diana changed her image and became a burning brunette. The change of appearance played into the hands of the girl, and she was chosen as the face of the Institute of Beauty.
The Queen of Europe is the third world status that Diana Starkova received. Photos and articles from magazines came in handy when obtaining a visa at the German embassy, where the girl did not want to issue a visa. After the employees were convinced that the model was going to the competition, they put the cherished seal.
Despite the great experience of participating in beauty contests and serious preparation, she took 6th place at Miss Intercontinental.
In 2011, she became vice-miss in the Miss Asia Pasific World contest, and a year later she won the same contest, replacing her predecessor from France, Florima Treber.
In the same 2011, she was selected from 54 applicants for the award of the Ideal Beauty Award and entered the top 100 most beautiful girls.
In January 2012, Diana was chosen from 400 contestants in the “New Face of the Year” (Fresh Female Face of the year 2011).
In 2015, she represented France at the Miss Europe competition and won.
Throughout her career, Diana took part in more than 200 photo shoots in 19 countries and collaborated with many glossy magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Glamor, Shape, and others.
Life outside the catwalk
After winning the Miss Ukraine Continental 2007 competition, Stephen Seagal invited Diana to play in one of his films. But the busy schedule did not allow the girl to act in films. Although she already had experience in this field - in 2006 the film “Hostage” was released, in which she played the main role. Today, her filmography includes one full-length and two short films: “Daughter of Fate”, Tortured and Can't fight alone.
For a long time she was the editor of the beauty section in Cosmo News magazine.
In 2012, she was the host of the Miss Asia Pacific World contest in South Korea.
She was a student at the Institute of French Linguistics.
She is the director of the national director of the Miss World contest and is actively involved in the preparation of contestants.
During her visit to Iraq, she donated 12 thousand euros to the “Fund for Assistance to the Children of Iraq”.
As for her personal life, the girl carefully protects her from prying eyes - on the official accounts on social networks Diana Starkova does not expose a photo with a young man, but, as she noted in an interview, she values time with her beloved.
