Grachev Alexander Pavlovich - a famous figure skater of Russia, who, together with Elena Romanovskaya, became the world champion among juniors in 2004, and in the youth championship of 2002 took an honorable third place. Today, he is a Russian master of sports of international class.
Biography: The Beginning
Alexander Grachev was born on July 28, 1984 in the capital. I got into figure skating very early, at the age of four.
Pair skating
There were two total dance duets with Alexander Grachev. The first couple was with Elena Konstantinovna Romanovskaya. This beautiful couple lasted more than five years.
The second pair for ice dancing was created with Anastasia Alexandrovna Platonova, who skated with Andrei Maksimishin before the skater Grachev after the injury. With the new ice partner Grachev, the girl worked for two seasons, but, having announced their retirement, they still continue to train together.
Duet with Elena Romanovskaya
In a duet with Elena Romanovskaya Grachev Alexander rode for several years. Their trainers were wonderful masters of pair figure skating Elena Kustarova and Svetlana Alekseeva. Such a creative duet could win several victories. So, they several times participated in the world championship among juniors.
In 2002, a couple of Alexander and Elena, despite the fact that she won the audience with her certain charm and soulfulness of the dance, was able to take only third place and get a bronze medal. But the duet was not going to stop there. The very next year, with the new program, they participate in the same competition and again receive a bronze medal and an honorable third place.
Only in 2004, the duet of Alexander Grachev and Elena Romanovskaya won juniors at this championship and took the honorable first place. After this, participation in the championship of Russia followed. But then, in 2006, they were able to take only fourth place. But even this place in the championship allowed them to enter the Russian team, which played in Turin at the Olympics. But the duet of Grachev and Romanovskaya was a spare.
After the first, so complicated and serious, performance at the “adult” world championship, where they were only twenty-third in the table, this figure skating duo broke up. Elena Romanovskaya found her new partner in Canada, and Alexander Grachev did not perform for another year.
2006 World Cup
The turning point in the duet Alexander Grachev and Elena Romanovskaya was the 2006 World Cup. The Skating Union always organizes such a championship annually; it is considered the most prestigious. Typically, skaters represent their skills in different categories: single skating by both men and women, as well as pair skating and ice dancing.
In March 2006, the World Cup was held in the Canadian city of Calgary, where twenty-four skaters were represented and twenty pairs showed their free program. Despite the fact that both the dance and the dance technique were excellent, the couple was only in twenty-third place. From this moment, a split began between the Moscow figure skater Elena Romanovskaya and Alexander Grachev.
Duet with Anastasia Platonova
Having missed one season, Alexander Grachev, whose photo is presented in this article, found a new partner for pair figure skating. She was Anastasia Platonova. In a new composition, this duet also performed in 2008 at the Russian Championship. This time, a pair of Grachev and Platonova in fifth place in the winners table. This season they did not participate anywhere else, but only trained hard.
But already in the next season of 2008-2009, this new and successful couple participated in the Finland Trophy tournament, where they took the second place of honor and won silver medals. In the same season, they participated in the Grand Prix, where at one stage they only got to seventh place.
This couple also actively participated in the Russian championship in 2009, where they only only confirmed their previous success, having won fifth place. Then a successful duet decide to change the coach and go to Alexander Zhulin. Hoping for victory, Alexander Grachev and Anastasia Platonova participate in the 2010 Russian Championship. This duet is in seventh place in the victory table. But their performance was so unsuccessful that they decide to permanently end their career in figure skating.
Russian Figure Skating Championship
In the Russian Figure Skating Championships, this successful couple performed several times, but could not win the victory. So, their first participation in this championship took place in 2008. They were worried for a long time because, having entered the top ten strongest, they still could not take pride of place on the award podium.
But the very next year, this beautiful couple again applied for participation in the Russian championship. And again, their free dance program was excellently executed, although the technique was excellent. But only in terms of the number of points they were again in fifth place in the ranking table of victories for this championship.
For the third time this couple performed at the Russian Championship in 2010, and this performance was already less successful. Disappointed, young and talented skaters decided to leave figure skating.
