Not surprisingly, in Russia, each region is significantly different from the others. Here, climate diversity, population density, and living conditions as a whole can vary. That is why the financial situation of citizens who live in different parts of our vast Motherland is different. As you know, in our country over the past few years there has been a certain stratification of workers' incomes, both in the regions of the country and in sectors. But where are the highest salaries in Russia?

Average income in Russia

It is no secret that our country is considered one of the largest in the world. The territory of Russia is huge, hence the significant difference in incomes of citizens. Strange as it may seem, the highest salaries in Russia are not fixed at all in the capital, as one might suppose. In fact, it’s not the central regions that earn more today, but the settlements that are strategically important for our country. For example, those districts that are directly related to oil production or export and have a significant reserve of hydrocarbon resources in general. According to the results of 2014, the average income of citizens amounted to about 28 thousand rubles, while experts emphasized that such a sharp decline occurred in the country for the first time in 15 years. Indeed, for the last several years in a row, real income of citizens has been constantly increasing.

The difference in income by industry

Before you find out what is the highest salary in Russia, it is worth noting that the income of citizens differs, not only living in different parts of our country, but it all depends on the sphere in which the person works directly. For example, financiers who receive an average of about 55 thousand rubles, today earn much more than the same seamstresses, whose salary is only about 10-11 thousand rubles per month. It is worth noting that the oil industry and transport are considered the most profitable sectors in our country. But the lowest incomes are awarded to such areas as leather and footwear production, wood processing and agriculture. It is important to note that the cost of living in each region will also vary significantly, so do not assume that those regions in which the highest wages are fixed will live much better than other Russian citizens. In general, if we talk about the highest salaries in Russia by profession, then preference can be given to the financial sector and the oil business.

Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug

If you study the highest salaries in Russia by city, then, of course, the capital will come first. Moscow, as usual, earns the most, but if we only talk about the highest incomes in the cities of our country, because here this figure was about 45 thousand rubles. But if we look at the regions as a whole, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is in first place today, in which Russian citizens receive an average of about 58 thousand rubles. However, this is not at all surprising, because it is here that most of the oil and gas in our country is extracted. It is worth noting that not only oil workers can boast high salaries in this region, for example, the average teacher in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug receives about 60 thousand rubles a month. Despite the fact that the Autonomous Okrug consists of only 7 cities and six districts, the population is quite satisfied with its standard of living and abundance.

Chukotka Autonomous Okrug

The second place in the list of regions where the highest average salary in Russia is recorded is rightfully occupied by the Chukotka Autonomous Region. To date, the average level of earnings here fluctuates at around 57, 000 rubles per month. However, for those who know what the Chukotka Autonomous Region is mainly engaged in, this is not news at all, because the main industry here is mining. The main products that the region produces are considered precious metals. For example, gold, which is mined in huge volumes by the enterprises located here. From here, products like mercury, tin, brown coal and tungsten come to the piggy bank of our country. However, those who are engaged in the production of building materials and the fishing industry earn good money. Well, and, of course, this is where the basis of our energy industry is located, a huge number of thermal power plants, hydroelectric power stations and nuclear power stations located in this territory speak about this.

Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug

Another autonomous region, which also has the highest salaries in Russia, is the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. In this region, the average salary is about 56 thousand rubles per month. First of all, I want to note that it is in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug that about 60% of all oil of our state is produced. The largest and most famous oil companies of our country work here: LUKOIL, Transneft and TNK. It is these organizations that provide the population living here with stable and, most importantly, highly paid jobs. Experts note that the reserves of natural gas stored in this region can only be compared with those in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. However, here you can work in other areas, which, in principle, compared with other regions of our country, are paid quite high.

Nenets Autonomous Okrug

Despite the fact that it is rather cold in this region of our country, the people here work very hard. Apparently, this is precisely why the Nenets Autonomous Okrug got into fourth place in the list of regions with the highest salaries in Russia. The average income of a working citizen living here is about 55 thousand rubles. In this case, the minimum basket of food costs about 4-5 thousand rubles. In general, it’s rather difficult to say that living in the Nenets okrug is simple, rather, quite the contrary. The main area of activity here is forestry, food and fishing. Well and the most important thing that brings high revenues to the region is the Vasilkovo-Naryan-Mar gas pipeline and sea ports, with the help of which it is possible to successfully realize most of the district’s products.

Magadan Region

And again, a region in which mining is considered the main activity. Magadan region, of course, is included in the list of those regions where the highest salaries in Russia. An average resident of Magadan receives about 54, 500 rubles a month, but given the remoteness of the region, as well as the fact that the cost of food and other goods necessary for everyday life is much higher than in other regions of Russia, everything is complicated. That is why the residents of this region have a very difficult time. The main activity here is gold mining and the fishing industry. However, many residents of Magadan are engaged in reindeer husbandry. The region differs from other cities of our country by inconstant climatic conditions and rich taiga forests. The average cost of a grocery basket is about 5.2 thousand rubles.

Tyumen region

About 48 thousand rubles today are received by residents of the Tyumen region, which brings our state about 2/3 of all oil produced in the country. It is not surprising that the highest salaries in Russia went to this particular region, because it is here that the population is engaged in a wide variety of areas in production. In addition to oil and gas, residents of Tyumen produce about 1/3 of batteries and automotive lead-acid batteries in our country. The woodworking industry is well developed, and a record number of building materials are produced. The population of the region is actively working in the largest factories, which are located on the territory of Tyumen, as well as are engaged in agriculture. And, of course, Tyumen receives huge income from highly developed pipeline transport.
